So glad to be rocking intel

FINALLY! I scraped together the money to purchase a proper mobo, ram, and cpu for gaming, Got the intel I3 6100 and 8 gigs of 2800MHz ram. that AMD shit was really getting on my nerves. Every time I wanted to load a game with trash optimization it lagged up a storm! fallout 4, dark souls, dark souls 3, dolphin emulator, and what did I get in return? Slightly faster render times in blender... yea..

Now that thats off my chest, what should I do with my 8350, 6300, gigabyte GA 990 FXA UD3 R5, and 8 gigs of ddr3 1600MHZ?

Well since AMD CPUs have lots of cores, you can use them for rendering if you render videos. If you don't, just sell them or give them to a friend who wants to build a pc.

Build yourself a NAS/render machine? That's basically what my FX PC is now. (By render machine I mean I just use it to transcode stuff so I can keep using my main build for other things at the same time).

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

If it's such shit, by all means, send it to me. I'll build a computer that's damn near the equal of your i3-6100 rig with it.

well, you could buy some other used components off the internet for dirt cheap if you're patient enough (some cheap PSU, storage device, case, and whatnot) and then resell the computer as a basic desktop/daily driver for like 200-300 bucks for people who just browse and use word and whatnot (or maybe someone wants a cheap computer to fiddle around with linux or something). maybe you could even find a use to having a second PC for those reasons, or maybe a HTPC/media pc... or rendering farm. or folding or something.

or you could scrap for parts outright and maybe get enough money from them to buy yoruself an upgrade on your current PC like case fans or LED strips or something =)

You're not gonna get 180 USD for a 8350 and a 990FX board used...why buy a 8350 and a 990FX board for 180-200USD when you can get a P67+2600K for around 200 USD or a P67+2500K for around 150 USD....

that paticular board is great for overclocking, and as other people have mentioned the multiple cores are good for something other than gaming, you could lower the price to 150$ if nobody bites.
