Why did Intel kick Nvidia from the chipset market?

Nvidia had to buy the license from AMD and Intel to make the chipsets, they just stopped selling it to Nvidia most likely so AMD and Intel could make more money.

They make ARM cpus with their tegra line. So technically they still make chipsets just not for any x86 chips.

Simply put, I think its cheaper to make chipsets in house for both AMD and Intel. Why pay markup, wages, and CEO bonuses for a whole other company when you can DIY. And yes Nvidia chipsets do suck. My Nvidia 680i LT SLI that supposedly supported the Q6600 would not even POST with a Q6600.

 

Not to mention CPUs do much of the work chiipsets used to.
