Jumper118

Been my goal since getting the 980's to break that 20k score possibly around the 22k mark

the 4790k will help thats for sure.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

Yeah i got an 18990 score in 3d mark with current overclocks i think the i7 would help me to my goal along with shorten video processing times during editing ect

I raised the cpu core voltage thats all i did perhaps i had it running with insufficient power and now has the power it needed was 1.25V raised it to 1.32V i got it upto 4.8GHz but saw no score increase

Also raised the ring core speed

Maybe im just misinformed, but i thought you weren't supposed to go above 1.3v on vcore, but then again im still on ivybridge.

you can go as far as you like on the vcore :P. for a short benchmark it doesn't make much difference.

You know what i mean i.e 1.5v will bump up the temps/kill it much faster

based on the score I'm guessing thats a 7950?

Nah, just one of my lower overclock profiles on my 7970. With low fan noise thats what i run above. My usual setup which includes like 65% fan speed is 1225/1603 and higher voltage. For the clocks above i'm under volting it a little.

I'm glad that my SLI 760s outpreform 970s and 980s. It's quite a relief.

I thought that I had fucked up investing in 700 series.

Out perform in what? I have a higher score with my single 970 in a benchmark where the 970 performs horribly.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

Single 980. Base clock. What score?

I was saying in general. There are always outliers.

My 760 SLI setup preforms better than some 780ti, and in this benchmark the 980 preforms a little worse than the 780ti.

Also, nobody has posted any single 980 scores in this thread yet. Lots have been posted on OCN and your 760sli score is 500+ points lower than a single 980.

I get 3200. You said 500 pts more. 3200 + 500 = 3700.

But look at that clock speed. And a 5960X...

I tested mine with a 20MHz OC. And got 3200 pts.
