LMAO. That's what I thought.

do this but don't use kombuster, use valley or heaven for stress testing instead :P

download msi afterburner or evga precision. then move the sliders across 10-25mz at at time until your gpu explodes   it crashes with a black screen or starts artifacting in a benchmark like heaven or valley. If it does start artifacting you just lower the memory speed a bit. If it crashes give it more voltage or power, if you can, or lower the speed back down to where it didn't crash. There should be plenty of guides on gpu overclocking on the youtube :)

Okay. +45MHz and I have it at 3085 (Score)

With +250 on RAM (3255MHz)

And + 50 on Core (1236MHz)

I got 3094. And anymore than that it crashes.

Getting 3190+ now. Less core clock, more memory clock.

Overclock dat memory

I was unlucky and snatched a card with Elpida chips. 1400 is about as far as they'll go. But judging by the fact that overclocking it from 1250 to 1400 didn't seem to make any difference at all, I'd say that it probably doesn't matter anyway.

Quite the contrary, Valley likes fast memory. It's the reason why there are 760's with lower core clocks than mine above me.

weird, for me, with an AMD card, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I can't go above 1400 MHz anyways though, so I guess that's a sad day for me... :(

i think that only applies to nvidia cards which have lower memory bus than AMD

amd has enough memory bandwidth that OCing memory speed doesn't make much difference after a certain point

possibly. the memory actually makes the score 7870 go down when overclocked.

on my original R9 290 the memory overclocks helped too a point then they rapidly lowered performance just before they became visually unstable.

I could push for more. I've just been having a fair bit of issues with these guys playing well together. 340.52 threw me a crash at first go. I may have to hunt down the old school 580 dated release to get some stability north of 900. EVGA Precision X states they're at 900/2100 but GPU-Z doesn't reflect it. May have to install Afterburner as much as I dislike it <_<

afterburner is usually best. will you be getting some new nvidia cards to go with your beast cpu.
