Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

I read a lot, that a high power GPU's have a poor performance when paired with an older CPU like my i7-4770k, but if I look at the leaderboard, you can find Ryzen 9 5950X / RTX 3090 combos with lower score. I guess a well cooled lower spec PC beats a throttling high budget build in some games and benchmarks.

That's not the case at all. Superposition is a proper GPU benchmark where the CPU has little to zero influence on the score. Valley on the other hand is massively CPU limited. There will be some variance with GPU clocks, open programs, clean installs and driver versions. But overall, Superposition does a far better job of representing what a GPU can do vs Valley which at this point is CPU instead of GPU limited.

You'll get destroyed in benchmarks like 3DMark Firestrike or Timespy. You're cooling has nothing to do with it.

In my opinion, this combo works well and it gives me some time to wait for Zen 4 or Raptor Lake CPU's, and lower DDR5 prices.

You have a K under a stock cooler?? Why???? Those are for overclocking! Crank that thing up with any decent cooler, anything you buy these days will come with mounting for AM4 too so you can use it when you change yo stuff.

Best I think I can do on my Vega56 at 1630 core and 900 memory, I had some artifacting during the run but it didn't crash. Core clocks won't boost past 1630 because my hot spot temp hits 90C while core temp is in the 60's. I guess I need to re-paste the thing but I really don't want to fuss with it lol. I don't push it hard except to bench mark once in a while. Oh and power draw? 322W at the peak!!

Scores with every setting crank up to maximum in 5120x1440 resolution. Not the highest but it looks stunning!😅

Anyone tried EzBench yet?

This is one of the worst UE5 engine benchmark I ever seen, cannot set resolution, cannot set aspect ratio, actually nothing to set.

It is not smooth also and I am using RTX 3080. The only option to set is change to 4K resolution and that one just immediately crash the benchmark.

They literally updated it this morning with some options now, it's a little better. It's a very amateur project and is only like 10 days old. I'm mostly confused that I'm getting like 14,000 points with my OC'd Vega56 which seems ludicrous for 1440p.

Ok, I redownload back see how is it. 😅

I done re-test, at least now they maintain the aspect ratio, still this benchmark is means for 16:9 as it is cropping top and bottom for aspect ratio others than 16:9.

I will not use this benchmark as what your GPU capable as it is badly implement still, higher scores FPS in 1080p (avg 43fps) and 1440p (avg 32fps) but it is still very not smooth. I accept it not smooth at 5120x1440 (avg 19fps) as the FPS is low but the average scores I get in 1080p and 1440p should be running smooth.

Decided to run the benchmark to see if it will behave like in gaming and it did. For some reason my 6900XT keeps on boosting to 2465MHz - 105 more than what it should be aiming for. Anyone with idea why?

Every modern GPU does this. The base and boost numbers on the box are guaranteed clock rates that it will hit. However, modern GPUs take advantage of all sorts of algorithms that take into account GPU temperature, voltage and power target which allow the GPU to boost further than what it says on the box. These boost algorithms are completely normal and part of the design process for the GPU.

TLDR: Everything is working the way it should, don't worry.

Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. I threw in my new GPU last night. Still have some tuning to do but for now I just went with AMD's WattMan "UnderVolt GPU" preset profile as I don't need this kind of graphical horsepower anyways, I only picked up the card because it was a fantastic deal and I saved close to $300 versus buying one from a store. Plus its a Red Devil Card, I love Red Devil cards 👍

Keep in mind I will be upgrading the entire system at some point, I just had to jump on the deal for the GPU.

Also Decided to go ahead and do a custom run at my Monitor Native 3440x1440p with 4K Optimized Shaders and High Textures quality (Second Pic)

I just finished OC-ing the new 7900-XTX Red Devil last night. I was able to push a score of 24000 exactly at one point but the OC was unstable and crashed about 20 mins into stress testing on TimeSpy Extreme Loops.

This particular OC is 100% stable at 1075mV, I ran a custom looping TimeSpy Extreme Benchmark overnight as well as ran the Superposition game for an hour and Unigine Valley Loop for about an hour on maximum 4096x4096 resolution as anything less would just not really stress the XTX on an older benchmark like Valley.
