50 Shades of... Virus?

Just got a LOVELY virus on my netbook. It takes all .exe files and tries to open them with Adobe Reader. regedit, dxdiag, you name it, if it was an .exe file, you're screwed. So I just spent the last half hour contemplating: Should I wipe Vista and put 7 on that partition or wipe the hard drive and put Ubuntu on it? I decided on Ubuntu, since XP is on it's way out, and that's the primary OS on my netbook.

 

This leads me to this question: What was the worst or most annying virus you've ever had?

The one that screwed my laptop for all eternity D: made the screen go all crazy, also "The Troll Virus" was annoying had to use a different pc to figure out how to get rid of it... (The laptops motherboard is dead now)

when I was a kid we had this crap single core thing not sure what it was but I used to download everything for fun nobody was there to tell me not to the rest of the family were basically computer brain dead and I was like 6 :3

I had one virus that's all. I was doing an SSD swap for the OS anyways so it wasn't that big of a deal :)

Nope. Ad on Google. My netbook wouldn't even try to run GTA IV.

Try Linux mint with cinnemon. It's luvvvvvvvvvly and not as intense as ubbi but if you want windows look at 7 or 8.1 (really isn't THAT bad).

How does Windows 8 "suck"? I have been using it since late 2012 and I have no problem with it. There is nothing wrong with windows 8. Sure, they got ride of some things that people liked. But, that doesn't make it "suck".

 

People need to stop bitching and moaning about Windows 8. IT WORKS JUST FINE.

Allot of people just prefer 7 over 8 for various different valid reasons (of which are mostly personal taste type reasons)

First off no desktop should have to be forced to use touch screen interfaces. Unless you have one and are a total idiot who is willing to hold their hand up in front of them for long periods of time then it shouldn't be there at all. So yes Windows 8 does suck.
