Biggest Tech inconvenience?

So I thought this might be fun, to discuss our biggest PC related inconveniences. 

I've got 2. The first would be when my PSU died and I thought it was my GPU. I spent 3 hours trouble shooting after which I was certain my GPU was the issue. I went out and bought a GTX 1070 SC after which everything was fine for about a week. The following weekend I was playing a game and once it pushed my GPU to a certain point my system shut off. This told me it was the PSU so another $100 later everything was fine. I couldn't return  the GPU because the bracket where the i/o is was slightly bent and I couldn't prove that it was like that when I bought it. 

 

The second happened yesterday. I left my computer on friday night and everything was fine, but yesterday morning I found that my X and Z keys weren't working. Now to be fair I didn't have to go all out like I did but I ended up replacing it with a Corsair K65 Lux so yeah that was another $100. 

 

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

My R9 280x.... runs hotter than the nuclear reactors. It's so bad, that i cant play most games for more than 90 minutes or even 15 minutes without glitching out! Fallout 4 stutters and glitches like craaaaazzyy!

Very rarely my pc gives bsods and it will sometimes not boot

I feel you there. I live in Texas and last year our A/C went out in the middle of the Summer and this was back when I still had an AMD 8320 with a stock cooler. While I was playing games that thing was massively hot.

Kept having BSODs on my MSI laptop, I think I've had about 15, and 3-4 more because Xbox Game recording was turned on by default, that killed my fps and load on my components, I got a leave buster on League because of that, The recording app should've been turned off by default on W10.

The CSGO BSOD was fixed by BIOS updates by MSI.

that sounds like a problem with your card. try replacing the thermal paste and cleaning the cooler.

You tried cleaning it, changing thermal paste and so on? Something seems to be wrong there. 

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

It takes a long time, from 10 seconds to 22 seconds, to post with 64gb of RAM at 3200mhz.

Sometimes my PC does not want to wake up from sleep. I put it to sleep and the next time I try to turn it on I can press the power button all I want but it won't wake up. I then have the turn my power strip off and then back on. Then it turns on, but for some reason, it turns on as if it woke up from sleep, not as if it lost power...

My refurbished corsair 860i takes the day off sometimes and wont work until i take apart my computer and put it all back together.  One time i even had to take it for a drive, not even kidding.  It shows that there is an error on the test LED and then the next day it works perfectly.  Probably why it was "refurbished" 

 

The other one is that my keyboard (corsair strafe) doesn't work during boot up so i have to plug in another keyboard if i want to get into the bios.

This appears to be a bug with Windows 10 although I just press my reset button to fix it, by any chance are you on the AM1 platofrm?

My procrastination is the bane of my existence.

I make games and stuff in my spare time.

Keep getting random  memory errors on shutdown, no big deal just an annoying dialogue box pop-up every time I shut down.

Back in maybe 2008 I got a new Opteron based server and for some reason either 32 or 64-bit Debian wouldn't run stable on it (I can't recall which way around it was). Troubleshooting the issue boiled down to total crapshoot, but in the end I reminisce the server itself with fondness so no harm done.

 

Current biggest inconvenience would be the heavy restrictions on open ports my ISP is forcing. They do however overlook running minor servers so I just count my blessings and deal with it.

asus fans on my 270x , 2 years old and both are making truck noises

(I never ran them at above 60% and always kept the card clean)

 

not having enough sata drives and resorting to IDE to sata adaptors wich some boards reject

(someone pls donate some :P )
