why does everyone care only about new gpu's

I got octocore amd processor with 32gb ddr3 ram and a 8gb r9 390

yes it gets hot

yes you need two pci express power plugs

but my gpu labeled as 1080p gaming card by many

get 40 - 60 fps in 4k on triple a games.

40-55 high settings 4k - cod black ops 3

60 4k high settings mortal kombat latest version

around 40 high 4k - streetfighter latest version. and so on...

so why all about new games and why people think it so bad to have r9 390.

who thinks it's bad to have an R9 390? There's just better options on the market today for the same price. there's nothing wrong with having one.

Probably because most people are moving along with the times and caring about the new stuff that comes out, rather than old hardwares.

I don't think anyone is anti-r9 390... just that it's only a little bit more expensive for newer GPUs that bring better performance and power saving etc.

The 390 is runs hot and there are better options out there. They cost more but there are better options. New GPUs are always fun to see new technology perf/watt and the hope of new competition to drive prices down and raise the speed of R&D

Why do car guys care about the engine? It's the main unit that'll determine most of what your car can or cannot do. Yeah there are the tires and tranny and what not, but overall that engine is what most people care about most. Similar to a GPU - it will be your main driver for most games today, especially triple A titles. A simple quad or even dual core CPU is all you really need to get playable framerates and high graphical settings, assuming of course you have a beefy graphics card.

 

I answered your title rather than the body of your message; there's nothing wrong with an r9 390. People like new tech. Simple as that.

I think people focus more on GPU because graphics are the things you see in the game, and games USUALLY need more GPU power than CPU power. Some modern games can run off core 2s but need a newer GPU.

Simple, the newer the GPU the longer it will be supported, especially in Nvidias case, where support for older generation cards is pretty poor.

i also disliked how 95/100 tech channels today only reported about the 1050 TI , i dont care bout the TI i wanna see how the normal one holds up
