4K 60hz or 1440P 144hz

Lilithty

I'm planning a build.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Yfd74C

Basically my question is:

With a single 1070 I can achieve 90+ FPS easily in most games at 2560 x 1440

OR

I can get pretty close to 60 FPS in 4k.

Which should I choose and does anyone have any suggestions for monitors?

Is the clarity and look of 4k enough to go with lower frame rates?

If you're talking monitors under 32", then go 1440p. You'll almost never be able to differentiate between 1440p and 4K.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

Get the 1440p _WITH_ G-Sync.

Remember for a "constant" frame rate you need to be looking at the MINIMUM rates from benchmarks, not the average.

Acer XB 271HU or

ROG Swift PG279Q

I love my 1070 paired with a27" 1440p display 60Hz. Passing on getting a g-sync monitor in the next year

@Rohime Alright. I was referring to both.

Thanks for the advice though.

How much of a difference does 4k make / how much of a difference does G-SYNC make. I may pick up a model that doesn't support G-SYNC to save a couple hundred $.

Everyone always says that 4k "makes no difference" on a smaller screen. But to me the difference between FHD and QHD+ on my Razer Blade is quite obvious even though it's quite a small screen size.

4k though amazing isn't the easiest to run, 1440p looks great and isn't that demanding plus you will have the benefits of 144hz. So I would definitely recommend the 1440p.

Personally I like the high resolution of a 2160p display but then that's mainly from a productivity standpoint since I can't play modern games at that resolution at a decent fps.
