AMD motherboard Upgrade

Hey guys, I wondering if you people had any suggestions about an AMD motherboards. Because I am looking for one that can support two graphics cards and a AMD FX CPU that I can overclock and have no problems like my current board. I currently have a AMD FX-4350 CPU but i want to upgrade to a AMD FX-8350 cpu for the 8 cores but i don't know much about good motherboards.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

To be honest, you should really just switch to an intel chipset. If you're upgrading the CPU and motherboard, it might be the best choice to switch to an intel platform.

And out of curiosity, why do you need a dual GPU motherboard with an FX 4350? That CPU can barely handle one high end GPU...

What does your budget? for the CPU and motherboard.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Well first off, you don't need a new motherboard if your just trying to get an FX-8350. Your current chip and the FX-8350 share the same AM3+ socket. Just doing the cpu upgrade is your best cheap option.

However, that being said, save your money and get an Intel CPU or wait for AMD ZEN to release. The FX chips are starting to bottleneck current gpu's like GTX 1070 & 1080.

Get an I5 6500k or a i7 6700k if you can.

The reason I wanted a new motherboard is when I messing with my overclock on that board i accidentally did something wrong and damaged the board so now when i start my computer up the logo screen flashes on and off every time even when I turn the overclock off, and reset the BIOS.

Nvidia SLI or AMD Crossfire dual gpus?

They have different requirements, but both need certification for them to work on motherbords, crossfire is more available though.

If you know that you already have to replave the cpu/motherboard, I would recommend at least an i5 4460/ h97 board so you can still use your ddr3 ram, but ddr4 is cheap now $30USD for 8Gb.

low end Am3+ Boards have tdp limits, so while you could even run a 9590 on any am3+ board it might literally catch fire since the vrms cannot handle it.

Well i don't have a budget yet for it, I was just wondering what to get and from what im seeing now i might go Intel instead of AMD so my buget might be $400-$600 total, and answering your last question about the duel GPU, i want to have an extra GPU slot in case i wanted to get an SLI going

If you can hold off for Zen, I would suggest that.

If not, you should change platform and go with a 6500 and a h170 or B150 for the meanwhile. Or, if you want, 6400+ a decent aircooler like Hyper 212 or Cryorig H7 + Z170 board for BCLK OC. ( no need to pay the extra fee for unlocked though it has its drawbacks but I don't see any negative impact if you're just gaming.)

SLI is only supported on z170 boards, so I would go for a 6600k/6700k you can get the overclocking ability as well.

$30 is worth it if you already have to get a z170 board since SLI isn't supported on h170/b150.

It depends on where OP lives. Some places like Canada have prices jacked up for K skus.I think he could get by with a 6600K and a good mobo

So for the SLI part, its almost always better to sell your current GPU and get an upgrade then to add another GPU.

So for the hardware... You could easily get a 6600k and a z170 board with water cooling in that price range... For example: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/v472D3

Again, you really don't need SLI unless you're going with dual GTX 1080s...

Well I already have water cooling in my system currently (Corsair hydro H100i) so what would you recommend a 6600k or 6700k and what motherboards are good for overclocking?

If it's in the US, it's well enough for a cpu+ mobo upgrade and getting some ddr4. If he's in some other places.... Good luck!

When you comment you should at least try to help out the OP in some way if they have an issue, or just say something relevant to the topic, just saying bullshit trolling comments doesn't help anybody.

It depends on how far you will take the OC. You can expect a good OC experience from any 990FX board by Asus.  ASRock's Extreme6 and extreme9 agree good as well. For moderate OCs, a number of 970 boards will be fine as well, and dual GPU support isn't hard to find, but for 16x 16x CFX/SLI look at 990FX boards. I use 8x 8x CrossFireX on a 970 board and it works fine anyway.

When looking into the AM3+ platform, I strongly recommend going used, unless you get some de-stocking bargains. It's not as bad as they say, but new prices are not in line with performance yet imho. The proximity of Zen is slowly bringing things down to reasonable levels, though.
