Don't buy a 960 - it's a waste of money

RX480 or R9 380X. Both MUCH better options.

Don't buy a last gen gpu. Its a waste of money, buy something future proof like the RX 480 8gb.

1060 is too expensive, 970 is shit in DX12/Vulkan and the 3.5GB of VRAM is NOT enough for 1080p anymore

The 960 is a horrible buy, even when relevant it was choked by it's small memory bus size. As Don said get a 380, 380X, or even better yet a RX 480.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

rx 480 or gtx 1060, whatever you can get for a good price where you live.

Because both are mostly out of stock it's just a matter of luck getting one :P

The 970 is a mistake to buy, but if the 1060 is cheaper then the RX 480 it's a consideration.

Gtx 1060 is much better than the 480 in gta v so I'd go with that if you can find it for a similar price.

He said that 3,5 is not enough, 4 is okay. Those 500 MB make a huge difference, at least in GTA V.

4g is enough as long as you don't want high textures in a lot of newer titles. Problem is the 970 doesn't have 4g, it has enough memory controllers for 3.5g, which is what a lot of games see. No reason to buy a 970.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

According to Gamer's Nexus & Hardware Unboxed videos of the RX 480 4GB vs 8GB, there's no noticeable difference at all between the two at 1080p & 1440p.

The only game that shows pretty obvious differences is AC Syndicate which is a badly optimized game & ME Catalyst using the Hyper settings, which is completely pointless compared to the Ultra settings.

So your logic dictates that any game which shows 8GB being better is badly optimized or the settings are useless? Well, that's very narrow-minded of you. Now stop giving bad advice.

Again that's 4g not 3.5g.

depends on what you play in terms of vram, but my vote is for the RX480 here.

Yet the 970 beats the RX 480 8GB in GTA V..? The only time the slower 500 mb comes affects performance is with live texture updates, like when it rains.

Other than that, it's perfectly fine.

No, not really. Look at DigitalFoundry - 480/1060 are above the 970 by a decent bit
