Hope you all are having happy PSU Christmas shopping!

Fortunately, for my friend's builds I pick the PSUs and they don't blow up :P

Still a little ticked at my friend who bought an EVGA NEX650G because "it was the cheapest 80 PLUS Gold modular unit from a good brand" when I told him many times that the extra 3 dollars for the G2/G3 would be well worth it, but eh. He also bought a Samsung 960 EVO NVMe SSD that he doesn't need at all just to spite me.

Hello, I just want to ask, are the T5s not terrible? I plan on getting a Silverstone Strider Plus 600w and I have a limited budget to work with.

What are you powering? It's terrible if you don't properly allocate your budget to it and you spend all your money on a 1080 Ti but it's fine if you have no dGPU.

Nah, get a CX450, you're not that limited if you can afford a 6-core.

But the local shops here don't have the big brands like Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA, etc.

Things can be quite finicky with availability and other stuff.

How do I know if a PSU is compatible with my system? I have a M4A78LT-M motherboard.

You need to check if it fits inside your case (ATX cases house ATX PSUs, MicroATX take MicroATX PSUs), if the cables are long enough to reach all ports, if it has enough connectors for graphics cards and drives, if it's powerful enough for all parts, if it provides stable power, and if it's built to last.

Ok. I thought it was a Micro-ATX, however people on different forums say that it all has to do with pin connectors.

Can you elaborate? What did you think was MicroATX? Your case or your power supply?

I thought the case was, sorry for being unclear. I am not sure though, but it seems small compared to my brother's PC, and I thought the motherboard might have been micro atx

Honestly, from that store the cheapest PSU I would get is this and it seems way out of your budget, even if you were to drop to an R5 1400.

Eh? What are you on?

Atx cases houses ATX (i.e. standard sized) PSUs

mATX cases houses both ATX and SFX.

mITX cases sometimes houses ATX and sometimes SFX only.

Edit: mATX and mITX uses both SFX and ATX PSUs.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

It said "OKIA 450 Watt max PSU" or something like that... I haven't looked at that thing in a while lol
