Ordered Corsair RM850X and Corsair AX1500i today, will be delivered this week.

Threadripper doesn't deserve big PSU.  xD

Nope and AVX sucks badly so it never pulls enough power to matter really.

Everyone that's drinking the Kool-Aid thinks that they are more power efficient due to miracles and the sort.  Nope.  They just didn't give us full AVX2 or any AVX-512.  xD

The latest Prime95 is a joke to pass on Threadripper.  Lack of AVX is a real thing.

I take it that AVX is probably what is impacting temps for the HCC Intel parts these days?

Maybe not including an AVX solution worth talking about is what allowed AMD to offer users 16 cores for $1000. AMD love the cores so they do.

Basically.  It doesn't matter if you run RealBench, Prime95, AIDA64 or whatever to stress test.  If it's the latest version, it has AVX.  That means that the Intel chip is doing a great deal more per cycle than the AMD chip is.  That more is in addition to the already more per cycle it does without AVX factored in.  When you keep stacking on performance, things get hotter.

Ryzen does have AVX2.  It's just a lot less efficient than that of Intel chips so it doesn't work the CPU as much under load.  You have to measure the performance output to see it in action otherwise you'd just assume that they were doing the same thing.

This.  I got mine for $699 so I have no complaints with what it lacks.

Yeah ikr. Hardocp is the only site that has tested a decent number of blocks and they found the xspc to be the best. The final area is massive.

I was tempted to get a bysyki one but I couldn't be bothered to wait for once. Which block do you have?

I had the EK originally, but returned it once my XSPC arrived.  XSPC did a great job.  Best part is the way they set up the mounting screws, you can crank that sucker down as much as you want.  It looks better than the EK block too, but I didn't care about that.

I did it after everyone else on OCN swapped and saw a 10c drop.  While it wasn't quite 10c for me, it was ~8c.

I should probably look on ocn more often. I forget it's the best forum for this kind of thing.
