I tested out a new server at work - B200-M4 UCS Blade... 64 threads total :)

Enjoy. This took about 16 seconds total... crazy lots of little yellow boxes...

I didn't mean 5K, but I'd have done the same xD

This is the 4th, same CPUs:

4 ahhming 2x Intel Xeon E5 2698 V3 2.3ghz 3721

I'm happy with 5th place for random curiosity... enjoy. Wonder if the 512GB servers would have been much quicker, lol ;)

Was messing around with my old P6T Deluxe. Was really trying for 4.8ghz but it just wasn't happening, went up to 1.44v without luck. This isn't too bad though.

You might have luck raising the QPI/DRAM core voltage :)

Cooling : Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme + Delta 3k (25mm)

PS. Oh, I forgot : I'm using D-Link's 1Gbit PCI network card.

UPDATE : 4,75GHz results (4,74GHz for R15).
I maxed out Vcore this MB can output for 45nm CPU's :D

Yeah I was able to get it to go pretty far at 1.4675v but my U14S+2x 100cfm+ NMB-MAT's just couldn't handle the heat. It was at around 82c through the first 80% of the test and then it spiked to 95c for a split second and Cinebench crashed. I'll need some better cooling to handle those clocks. Maybe I'll have better luck with 4.7.

Talking to me? It's an open air system with 3 70cfm fans blowing over the board and the two NMB-MAT's on the cooler. It sounds like a lawn mower. :)

It's just beyond the limits of the cooler.

If anyone wanted a showcase of what exacly is the difference between 65nm and 45nm Quad Core's...
Q6850 : http://valid.x86.fr/uknffg
E5440 : http://valid.x86.fr/pg9qz0

But it's not about frequency, it's about cooling :)
65nm : LINK

45nm : LINK

Cooling used :
QX6850 : TRUE + MX-2 + Delta 3k RPM [25mm]

E5440 : Intel BOX [high profile] + MX-2
:D

I got lucky with Xeon silicon lottery (Vcore=1,2V in BIOS for 3,83GHz).
That said, I don't know what to think about QX6850 Frequency/Vcore result...
Can anyone give some info about is it good/bad result (~1,45V for 3,84GHz) ?

Ok so... CLU is insane... I can't believe i didn't get some sooner...

Here's temps at 24/7 4.8 Ghz:

Here's temps at 5 Ghz CPU & Cache:

24/7 OC realbench BEFORE CLU, I was using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut:

24/7 OC realbench with CLU on CPU die:

Ambient should be very similar, I turned the fan off the blows cold air into my room, so I think ambient may have actually gone up just a tiny bit, if not stayed the same.

@Lays

Took a little bit of searching.  Coolaboratory Liquid Ultra is CLU?  That is a liquid metal?

How is working with the stuff, does it come off like regular paste?

Looking into delidding a 3570K, this is apparently the stuff worth replacing the stock TIM with.

Yeah it's liquid metal, in the manual it says it comes off easily.

I only just applied it, so I haven't tried taking it off before.   It was REALLY easy to apply, they provide you with 2 little brushes, and you just basically paint it onto the CPU's die.  Really easy.

To do list after I get CLU:

  • Apply it to GTX 970
  • Delid 4790K (its current TIM is worse than that of my i5 4440) and apply it
  • Apply it to this laptop's Phenom II N970+secondary dGPU
  • Apply it to the Pentium M770 in my brothers laptop
  • Apply it to Geforce 6200

Having to use my 150g tube of stop-gap thermal compound once every 3-6 months due to the way it....sets.

If your stock 970 heatsink is aluminum don't use it, it'll ruin the card. CLU reacts and eats away at aluminum or some shit like that, it's quite gross looking lol. Seen some pics on LTT before of some moron that did it, despite the manual saying not to. It ate the shit out of his MSI gaming cooler IIRC

It seems that most 5820k at 4.7 GHz are doing 1400cb or better.  I'm wonder if memory might be holding your's back?  CPU cache?

Cinebench R15 is pretty brutal on Haswell-E at 4.8 GHz or above, but let us know if you pull it off.
