So i just read this and did that, set to real time, and closed explorer.exe an ran the test. got a 883 on fully stock i7-4790k. But i couldnt pull anything up to screenshot it with cpuz an what not, didnt know how to pull it back up. so lol had to restart pc :/ what do u do after u do that..?

ill include the SS of it, but dunno if counts since its not the "orange" :/

EDIT so i re did it, didnt close explorer.exe an this is what i got xD:) hmm see the temps? im wonderin if i could go higher with something since stayed kinda low ...gf just walked in an said yeah, thats pretty loud lol

control alt delete, Task manager, and press alt, then enter, the type in explorer.exe and thats how you startup explorer.exe

I do see your max temperature was hitting up 100+, thats not good. You haven't overclocked more than keeping 4.4GHz stock. You can do 4.4GHz at stocks you know, (1.2v) and you can probably do 4.6~ on 1.3v

As you can see in the screenshot, I am clearly *not* running Vista as Cinebench reports lol.

Not exactly a really high score because Pentium, but that single core performance surprised me. I didn't run the OpenGL test because I haven't actually bought my graphics card yet.

The CPU just flat out refuses to do 4.6GHz even though it's got plenty of heat headroom, no matter what I do it will crash when stress testing.

I tried getting CPU-z running in WINE but it just showed all blank boxes :/ so I included screenfetch instead.

Long story short, AMD's A8 4555M only compares favourably to the first gen ULV i5. At least it was close single threaded to the Phenom II N970 in my old laptop even though it wrecks the A8 multi threaded. Still got to clean the dust though (and it does have dual channel DDR3, its just that 2GB is soldered on and can't be recognised by any program-apart from its capacity that is):

Lol,  yep. 19W for the APU total, as opposed to 29W for the N970 and 10-20W for the MR HD550. Still hate how this APU is listed as being a quad core-they compare badly to any quad core but well to most dual core (that are 32nm mobile chips). #AMDfailsatmarketing

Just got my cheap ebay E5-2683 v3 setup today... CPU-Z seems to be having some trouble reading the ram timings but hwinfo64 does it ok. There is NO ram OC through multiplier, so that only leaves bclk... also not looked further if there's anything I can do with the CPU but I doubt it. I don't have a proper cooler for it yet so not going to push it until that arrives.

OCF was cheaper at the time so I picked that up instead :D got it when it was 190~ on New Egg also when I slap it in a 750D it'll look small as fuck xD

Anyways, with my last few days with my 4790k should I try giving it one last shot at overclocking?
