i was thinking about getting that as well, going to have a look online to compare my 6300 to others

i wouldn't bother unless you are streaming or rendering things. the extra cores aren't used that much in games and a higher clocked 6300 will do better than a low clocked 8 core in most games i would say. if you're into overclocking and benchmarking its defiantly worth it

My voltage is actually set to 1.25, but my CPU wasn't under load when I took that screenshot, so the voltage stays low.

Not impressed at my CPU score being lower than the same Ivy i5 eventhough there was no throttling, but damn, that graphics score makes up for it, HD4400 isn't all that bad for an iGPU

i7 4790k @ 4.8 ghz + 4.4 ghz ring bus, I'll send another one soon if I can somehow make it to 4.9 or 5 ghz.  Voltage is getting a bit high.

Stock clocks, no OC. Task manager detects it as 2.4GHz and so does Cinebench. In multicore test, it cannot even beat a Core i7 4770K

OC the CPU to 2.7GHz, Task Manager only managed to detect it up to 2.52GHz (the 2.4GHz on top is the CPU stock speed/model name). Cinebench detect it at 2.52GHz. Xeon beats Core i7 4770K

This 2.52GHz will show during POST when EIST is enabled. When EIST is disabled, then during POST, it will show 2.7GHz.

Still... every transistor have a minimum voltage where it stops working...

 

Well, I have no idea how that reading came up then, although it may just be CPU-Z readings being buggy

Now this is more like it, little tweak in XTU and pre-heating to have the fans at max speed from the start helped a lot. GPU score is sadly lower but it has been having some issues staying at full speed during prevoius runs so some overclocking might be in order.
