3 version of the K70 by Corsair? Wha...? whats the difference?

haiimbacon

Hey!

So checking out the K70 on amazon  , saw 3 different versions - and i can't really pinpoint whats different, hopefully you'll be able to help me;

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Keyboard

Corsair Gaming K70 LUX RGB Mechanical Keyboard

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Keyboard

So...whats happening there , whats the difference? any features? hardware? or only visual?

Thank you! <3

If you look at the Corsair product page it lays it all out.

The Lux has bigger type on the keys, a USB pass through, and it's cheaper.

The regular version has smaller type, but per key back lighting.

This has been asked various times already, but to recap, the one you want is the LUX. It's the newest K70 model and features an updated LED controller and a USB pass through. The Rapidfire is the same thing as the LUX in terms of features/hardware but features the new Cherry MX Speed switch.

K70 LUX and origional RGB have broken LED controllers meaning they flicker when using the whatever million color shit

The rapidfire however has Fixed LED controllers, as does the Strafe RGB

the rapidfire also has most faster switches

Yeah sorry about that, I was referring to the RGB models. The original K70 RGB doesn't have a USB pass through, the LUX RGB has one.

The Standard k70 Rgb is the original k70 Rgb, the Lux is a slightly updated version with a more 'gaming' font and the rapidfire has Cherry MX Speed switches (which activate faster than reds).

LUX - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux

Appropriately named since they fixed the LED controller so this version has REAL 16.8 million colors. The old standard had controllers that could only get to 512.

There is no point at all in getting the non-RGB LUX model... complete waste of an update.

The rapidfire also uses the new controllers.

Ryzen 7 2700x | MSI B450 Tomahawk | GTX 780 Windforce | 16GB 3200
Dell 3007WFP | 2xDell 2001FP | Logitech G710 | Logitech G710 | Team Wolf Void Ray | Strafe RGB MX Silent
iPhone 8 Plus ZTE Axon 7 | iPad Air 2 | Nvidia Shield Tablet 32gig LTE | Lenovo W700DS

The new font on the LUX model is something like love and hate across the Internet xD. Many people love it, and others hate it.

Personally I'm a little bit torn between the LUX and the normal model. Fixed LED controller and the USB pass-through is a MUST, but I prefer more the normal font :(
