and able to play most AAA games. I think they're trying to target the Asian markets and the people who like competitive games.

So whatever. I feel like I'm getting repetitive, the aftermarket cards and driver updates will hopefully help the RX 480 out. Because right now it trades blows with the GTX 970. Which is still a capable card. But I could see there being some room for improvement with OCing and drivers.

I never filled the available vram.( I really want to say that but it's not true ). I have noticed that when I run a high vram card, for some reason I use more system ram than vram. ( actual vram usage is higher though ) when I do the same test with a ( same ) card that has less vram, I use more of that ram than system ram. I don't know why that happens..?? ( 4+gig cards )

Nope. Only difference would be the amount of VRAM.

Avoid the reference RX 480 if you are not in a rush.  Bad cooler, badly implemented power delivery.

Note:  The GPU looks great for it's price.  Just the reference card itself is not great... kind of bad actually.

@Jared121  Oh, one more thing... the 4GB 480 has it's VRAM clocked a bit lower than the 8GB model, not a big deal.

Yup. The aftermarket ones will hopefully be awesome but reference has enough issues that I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, if you can wait please do. The 1060 is rumored to launch Early July and RX 480 AIB cards are starting to surface. Give the matter a week or two and we should see some good stuff coming out.

Do you maybe have a source for this?

The only source i could find about AIB rx 480 is the sapphire card on OCUK and it would be in stock the 22th D:

The source is a Lithuania retailer, I don't know about other countries but if it has some releases in europe by the 14th then it will be in the US by that time

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4r8dgu/aftermarket_rx480_on_july_14th/

It says the release date is the 14th and that they will have it by the 16th-17th in their warehouse (it's always a couple days late in europe as I'm sure you know)

If you need one, just get one and undervolt it. the only problem is it causes computers to crash because it uses too much power. tell it to use less power by undervolting it and you should be fine. But like others are saying, it would be wise to get aftermarket 480's
