Jet engine on startup

Guest

I just built my parents a new pc and while this isn't a huge problem it's annoying as all hell.

Sometimes (most of the time) when you turn the pc on, or anytime it wakes up from sleep, the intel stock cooler likes to jump to 100% for about a second and then slow back down.

I imagine this has something to do with the fan controller initializing, if there is a fix i'd greatly appreciate the help.

If there isn't any fix I guess ill hand it off to my parents and tell them to deal with it. At least I wont have to put up with it anymore.

It does this so the fan just blows up some of the dust that is on it when it start up, so it doesn't have (bigger pieces of) dust stuck on it.

It's normal and I do not know if there is a simple way of 'fixing' it.

I wish there was an option for people who regularly dusted to just turn it off

SpeedFan? Is your motherboard compatible? If you know your parents won't be stressing the PC, you can set a lower fan curve for them as well.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I have the fan curve pretty low. it is just that it likes to jump to 100 before the fan curve settings kick in.

An, right, forgot about that. You don't have SpeedFan set to crank to 100% when the program is closed, do you?

I've only seen this happen on Pre-Built systems tbh.

But from what i read into its because the BIOS hasnt loaded any controllers ect

Gaming Rig:

Im sure your fine :). Like i said i believe it will just be the controller not loading straight away reason the fan spins at 100% for 1 second. Ever heard a server boot up? Fans spin at 100% for a few seconds as takes longer for controller to kick in.

I wouldn't worry about it tbh.

In my perfect world, AMD would apologize for the 9590, I'd have dual 1080 Ti's in SLI and every Atom in existence, along with any and all documentation and references to them, would be erased from history.

The 9590 is a nearly undetectable method of committing arson. That is its purpose lol

I'm telling you, if you want to make something go away, hook a 9590 and a 295X2 up to a Logisys PSU, boot up P95 and walk away.

depending on the noise of your fans under load, thats a good option

vardar, noctua and others produce pretty silent and powerfull fans

Your stock fan is nothing compared to my 11 noctua 3000rpm fans running on startup, thats a true jet.

[CUSTOM WATER COOLED TABLE] Project: Ravage ---> Here

Speedfan wouldn't work as this is part of POST process. It happens long before Speedfan or even OS has been loaded.

Only way to reduce that is to add low-voltage adapter. How often you shutdown or use sleep on desktop anyway for this to be so much of issue? And I doubt your parents care.

If they are like my parents and power PC on once per day, let it run as long as they use it and shut it down, they don't care.
