I bought Corsair AF140 by mistake

MentalBlank

I bought 2x Corsair Air series AF120 Quiet for my H115i Radiator and i think i fucked up with out knowing there was a SP series that is designed for radiators etc until i installed the AF... Can we call this a waste and get 2x SP? Or should i stick with them if there is not a huge different? My CPU temp is 28-32C normal and 60C at full load (i5 6600k non oc)

I haven't found a site that has compared good Air Flow fans to Static Presssure on rads, I would love to know if there is as much of a difference as peole make it out to be

Or will it just be 1C diffence like most things people obess over.

Those temps are good.   I wouldn't worry too much, just chalk it up as a lesson learned.  If you end up overclocking in the future, maybe get some SP optimized fans.  If you really aren't happy with them, sell them used.

Did you buy 120's or 140's by accident?

The SP fans have a different blade design for pushing/pulling air through a radiator.

Why not return them for the correct ones?

My 6700k running at 4.9ghz with an H100i even in a hot room only runs at 41C.  I have a push pull set up with 4 SP120 Performance editions.

I have 3 AF140's in the front and 1 AF140 in the rear.

My room temp is 67F at my house, when I'm gaming with friends it can get close to almost 80F in the room, and my CPU temp never exceeds 41-42C while gaming.

I don't have time to return them and buy new one, it was pain in the ass to install them by myself.

Jayztwocents is using airflowfans for his own rig since forever. He said theres not a single degree different. Stick with them.

I personally own the nf-f12 and the nf-p12. From my own playthroughs with each, i actually found the p12 that was designed to draw more air better then these so called static pressure fans.

Air is air, if a static pressure fan draws little to no air then its specially designed blades become moot.

Optimizing for static pressure sacrifices airflow. My recommendation is to aim for only as much static pressure as you need while maximizing airflow.

AF140's are fine.
