If i dont spend the money on good computers then i cant work and earn the money for the holiday anyway. So there is no choice.

When it comes to other hardware like my phone i cheap out and would rater use the money on a better holiday.

Vacations last once, PC hardware lasts usually a couple of years.

Depends. Are we talking about a 300 euros PC upgrade vs. a vacation all through the US for example? In such a case I would take the vacation.

If the prices are equal, I would choose PC stuff.

Well one could also argue that memories or experiences from a vacation last forever. I wouldn't argue that, some people would though

There is a slight flaw in this question... and that is that it is being asked on a PC enthusiast forum...

For most people this would be "A better holiday" for sure. But a lot of people here would rather upgrade their hardware or buy some new gadget, ect...

Hope that answers your question.

My answer would depend on the situation of the day. My PCs are all quite new and great, so I have no need for a new PC. So definitely holiday.

However, if you asked me in like 4-5 years when upgrade itch season flares up, I'd probably choose new PC.

There are other ways to make lasting memories without going on vacation.

Yes, but when you go on vacation you usually go to a totally different place (especially if you can go to another country), so often that makes a lot of memorable experiences

depends on lots of factors. As things stand currently, with me being a student with a "ok" pc, money spent on a pc that will last me a long time is imo more benefitial than a nice chill week by the sea

Holiday. No question.

Hardware is hardware, it will always be there and in a few years you'll be throwing it away and getting new stuff.

Life experiences are once in a lifetime things, you can't replace or upgrade good memories.

Vacation. I would always chose vacation.

While a new PC is nice it can't substitute the experience of seeing something new in a totally different place.

But the pc will (hopefully) be around long after the vacation is over. Now if someone has a decent PC ALREADY then vacation makes more sense.

Hardware. My life  is dedicated to my PC. I don't want to get married or have children so I can spend money upgrading my PC.

I never did see the point in vacations. I would never travel anywhere to be a 'tourist', but may if there's an event of some kind that I'm interested in. My vote goes towards 'hardware'.

I've never enjoyed going on holidays. I'd rather buy new hardware and spend that time tinkering / benching / gaming / sleeping.

Holidays are a waste of money, and good memories shouldn't rely on monetary spending.

I don't think I could ever buy a piece of hardware that beats the experience of seeing Angor Wat or getting hammered with the locals at a bar in Shimbashi.
