New X99 motherboards revealed

Whats up with the irregular spacing on the PCI-E slots? You can't get a 3 (double slot) card setup going without an irregular bridge, and abnormal spacing of the cards. That would look horrible.

My guess its setup for air cooled cards (more air for the coolers), plus we have some GPUs that is 2,5 to 3 slots and most people dont go 3 or 4 way SLI anyway.

Also, they will probably include a bridge that fits the options the motherboard allows.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

The first good looking X99 boards lol. I swear a lot of people went Z170 for the looks because basically all X99 boards look like trash compared to Z170.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Its more about the features they add, like the new M.2 ports.

Also, there might be something that we cant tell yet, like a new power design to allow the 10 core to overclock better.

The X99 OC boards can already deliver about 400 watts to the CPU. i don't feel like burning even more power. But if they add something like an NVMe raid controller or NVDIMM support this would be nice.

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil

I assume they have changed a few things, since it requires high speed ram (2400 instead of 2133). So that means you might need to change the power design, to make use of the changes Intel have done.

Generally yep.

X99 was a huge step up in looks over everything before it but Z170 blew that all away. (Although I LOVE the look of the X99 SLI Plus and the sabertooth is also quite a looker.)
