what does Likes (Old) mean?

They are the likes that are stored from the old like system.

The forum was recently re-done and they added the four new "Like" buttons

Good times... Simpler times...

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

Before the IPBv4 update (which happened in begin January of this year I believe), we didn't have multiple reputation rating you could give, you only had one, which was "Like".

When going from IPBv3 to IPBv4, the like system was removed (as people complained the 'Like' was kinda weird. It meant that the post was a good answer, but could also mean funny, etc.) so this new system was made.

I think one month ago they removed one of the reputation things (which was called 'Good point' 'Friendly'), which according to the mods seemed too similar to 'Informative' 'Funny' and 'Thumbs up' (previously 'Good Point'). So yea.

We had to find a way to keep the old Likes while introducing the new reputation system. We decided that putting them in the Likes(Old) was the best decision to retain them. It was all due to the move to new forum software.

It wasn't removed. It was changed to "Thumbs Up."

Hmm, but what was removed? I remember there being 5 reputation things before.... Right?

I prefered the old likes. There's not really much need for four separate types of likes IMO.

They're more specific. Much like Facebook's new system.

Facebook is terrible and should not be used as an inspiration.

That's an opinion, and just because something is deemed "awful" doesn't mean that it has no redeeming qualities.
