Apple is 40 Years Old!

In April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak formed Apple Computer out of Job's garage in Los Altos

 

 

The Beginning

 

 

Jobs and Wayne had both worked together at the gaming company, Atari, while Wozniak, 26, had worked for Hewlett-Packard.Wayne sold his share of the newly created Apple for just $800 just three months after its inception.

Apple 1 was originally a do-it-yourself kit, The Original Apple 1 was considered the most prized collectable item,  around 200 were sold primarily out of their garage, the original version reportedly sold for a whopping $50,000 to some collector

 

Apple was Originally founded by Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne & Steve Wozniac , Originally named the garage born company as Apple Computer. Inc , Apple 1 was sold for $500 according to some records, later priced it around $699 , Company's first Macintosh was introduced in January 24, 1984, the Macintosh was the first affordable computer to offer a graphical user interface, replacing fusty text-based operating systems with an intuitive layout of folders and icons.

The breakthrough

 

The smartphone that changed the direction of how an actual phone looked , it was introduced to the public in January 9, 2007 , it's slogan was "Apple reinvents the phone" , The iphone 1st gen , the phone was running the original iphone OS 1 , MMS, apps, were not supported at release  it was strictly usage as factory made, later some smart people began cracking this , better known a s Jailbreaking., Jobs introduced the iPhone as a combination of three devices: a "widescreen iPod with touch controls"; a "revolutionary mobile phone"; and a "breakthrough Internet communicator"

 

 

 

The Design

Sir Jonathan Ive has been guiding most of the design aspect of most of the hardware that comes out of apple, the design is mainly the cause apple receives majority of the attention , it's ergenomity & simplicity is subtly breathtaking

 

 

Jonathan ive's oversees the Apple Industrial Design Group and also provides leadership and direction for Human Interface software teams across the company. Ive is the designer of many of Apple's products, including the Mac Book Pro, iOs , ipad, applewatch etc. He became a full-time Apple employee in 1992.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fast forward 40 years later we got a product with a unique design which is literally being copied across various manufacturer

 

 

 

Apple's been a leading example in the field of handheld portable tablets & smartphone designs & it's complimentary supportive & visually pleasing Operating system across various other platforms have been the major factor that made apple popular as it is, tho overpriced , it does deliver customer satisfaction almost to the fullest

 

 

Recent years , apple has been trying hard to innovate & one of the most significant introduction of a new hardware was the introduction of Apple watch , Watch was released during the Keynote event in September 2014. It was announced along with The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

 

 

 

 

Regardless of constant criticism  from general audience & rival companies & other troll boys , Apple has been sticking to it's roots even after the unfortunate demise of one of the original founder Steve jobs ,

Most of the time apple has been struggling to find higher ground in a competitive aspect to keep up with heavy & hefty competition, the closes competitors to their products are currently designing better & providing hardware at lower cost comparitively, But all in all Apple was a wake up call for those lazy stagnant tech industry who were milking the market with outdated same product *oh the irony* , in a way apple pushed itself & introduced a risky  method which actually made it the best & made the competition fight for it's spot, they  in a way lead others along the path to innovate & challenge themselves,

I'm not a big Apple fan, but you can hate them all you want, they took advantage of a market at the right time and now they're one of the big 5's in Silicon Valley. Jobs was a opportunist and brilliant marketer but Woz was the brains behind it all.

my ipod touch 4 was too thin for comfort, so i got a cover for it, can someone *please* agree with me that the iphone 4s was the perfect thickness if it wasnt so awkward to hold the sharp edges?

True that. It's a shame that Woz left, he's an amazing individual. I'm sure the component choices Apple makes wouldn't be so shitty if he was there. I mean c'mon, who the hell puts a 4790k in a machine with no ventilation and shares its cooling with a big hot AMD chip. It's like they want you to melt silicon in your brand new fancy multithousand dollar all in one.

Not really. The Apple then is very different from the Apple now, which is more mass-market and so has to cater to a more diverse clientele compared to the past. And so its business tactics have to evolve accordingly as well, such as offering a wider variety of products. What Steve would have done then are no longer compatible with the realities Apple faces today. 

 

The true irony is probably the original Apple fanboys finding that they now have no place in the new world order that they no doubt helped Apple create, in that they are likely no longer the first priority when Apple decides what new products to market.
