Fun fact: I once used my passive heat sinks to defrost butter. It worked well.

 

But seriousely Luke, you need slome blower style GPU coller and a smal air intake at the bottom. Just turn the fan speeds down so you have a hot air stream and no an overheating PC in a sealed box.

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil

My suggestion:

Get an AMD CPU, OC the hell out of it, same for GPUs, get AMD ones or the good'ol GTX 480, make a custom watercooling loop to a home made ''cooler'' that looks like a radiator but has a flat surface on top, then, take some bacon and eggs and have fun frying :)

I'm adding my vote for the AMD GPUs & CPUs, specifically two R9 295x2s and an FX-9590. :) Or maybe four GTX 480s might work, along with a 22nm Intel CPU like the i7-4790K I have.

 

If using the 4790K, maybe run Prime95 28.7 Small FFTs with a 212 Evo or stock cooler.  On mine it almost immediately takes it to 100°C.

 

I also remember seeing a PSU on JonnyGuru that hit 91°C exhaust. I forget which one it was, but I remember it was a poor quality one.

 

@Slick or @LinusTech, think you might do something like that for round 2?

Guys! Take a week off FFS. I can see several off you are tiered. Luke looks like ha has no energy. In the meanwhile here are some Ideas:

1: Make the most environmental friendly computer possible, low power consumption and recycled materials

2: Tips for people looking to sell their computer. What to charge, security, and so on

3: Home automation using old phones and tablets that are just laying around

4: Simple but cool projects using a Raspberry Pi

5: We need more software content! Like really helpful apps and system optimization

6: How about you make videos to show solutions of FAQ from the forums

7: Go dumpster diving for electronics. I've found lots of gems like a working PS1, laptops good enough for Debian server and more.

8: I would not mind a little more gaming content like reviews, or maybe even tips on really underrated games

9: Invite more guest from Youtube or even the forum and have some fun challenges with them

10: Go back and redo old content that are still a thing but now with better production quality and updated info.

Get 295x2's, a 9590, and run a custom watercooling loop with a 360mm radiator. Overclock all, Wrap in Alumin(i)um foil. Boom, you win.

If you're gonna do this, then do it right, get an LGA 2011 CPU, liquid cool all the components then put run them all to the same rad put a mesh on top of the rad and there you go.
