Howmany threads does it have and cores?

have you tried that multi gpu thing in dx12?

4 cores 4 threads with 12MB L2 cache. And no, although i could with my GTX 650ti+GTX 970. My 4790K desktop will be trialed with the HD4600 as well.

dualfuryken_0.jpg

look at where the blower is located

now look at that pcb

if the card is being watercooled.. how does the blower even fit on that pcb......

it makes sence to exhaust all the air ,,but does it even fit right

are these 2 cards even the same thing?

In essence... the top pick is definitely not Gemini/FuryX2 as that config would not work effectively as you say.

What 380X? Why buy that when I bought the GTX 650ti at the start of 2014, and bought my GTX 970 November 2014 as it was a brand new card?

Top card is a reference R9 390 or 390X, just google "reference R9 390/X"

Bottom card uses identical GPU to those found on the Fury X, and remember, AMD's next line of architectures is on a new manufacturing node, the GPU won't be any where near that big.

It used HBM, so it couldnt not be, unless it was somehow polaris.

But who knows, perhaps the PCB has changed since the initial announcement (which would explain the delays) and will feature PCB connector on top, with a cooler longer than the PCB like the Fury non X ?

Even if they changed the PCB they wouldn't:

  • Make it larger and negate a benefit of HBM (much like Pentium II Celeron being able to fit into a socket as they had on die cache, instead of relying on bulky slot 1 cartridges)
  • Use the cooler off a reference R9 390/390X

yea but its a top end card

making it bigger gives somany more advantages

and high end people tend to have realy big cases anyway

and it does actualy look bigger

Its AMD. They tried to hype the shit that became the FX line instead of the successor to the Phenom II.

yea but they havent realy hyped anything this time around

its all been public hype

imagine if the zen has hyper-cross-threading

that could automaticaly give gains of 100% per core

hype was the wrong word to use before

How does making a card with HBM based GPU bigger give it any advantages? The Fury X2 is far smaller than any previous dual GPU card, and indeed a lot of single GPU cards because of HBM. Which means that it will fit inside a lot more cases than previous dual GPU cards, and to top that all off, it will be lighter as well which makes it a perfect choice for ITX cards. The evidence is there, please peruse it and use your logic. That's all I'm going to say to you for now as talking to you is a mixture of face palming/banging my head on a brick wall.

It allows more breathing room for the GPU, so the VRMs and the Core + Memory aren't warming each other up.
