What Can I get for $1000?

So, at school, I just got the opportunity to build a PC for $1000, and I am wondering what I can get best for the $1000, performance wise (and with a few specific specifications)

A few things to think about:

-$1000 Budget

-Nvidia Based GPU

-AMD Based CPU (Preferably an FX-Series)

-At least 8GB of Ram

-A case that supports 120mm fans, fits ATX or MicroATX, and has a window (Corsair is nice)

-Its a blue and black build, blue LEDs are nice.

-At least a 600W PSU or maybe 500W if necessary

*May need Windows 7, which on PCPARTPICKER is $149.

Why AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU? With your budget you can get a 6600K (If my american prices are correct)

please kill that psu with fire, otherwise it may do so itself

Also, please try to squeeze an i5 into that build. You'll thank me later.

and why do you not have a hard drive? an ssd will fill up so quickly with the 60gb windows install

Also, swap that GPU for an R9 380 or 380x. The 4gb models of the 380 are pretty cheap, and the 380x is not much more than the 4gb 960.

And why windows 7? Buy windows 10 off kinguin

http://www.kinguin.net/category/19429/windows-10-professional-oem-key/

It's like 20 dollars.

and to conclude my rant, you don't need aftermarket thermal paste

Nvidia I can understand but AMD? Just wait for Zen then. Or buy Intel. Buying an FX now is not worth it.

Time to come out of your shell bud.  Intel CPU's outperform AMD by a mile and the 390 is a great GPU for the money.  Windows can be bought off G2A, reddit or Kinguin for cheap.

If someone actually wants an AMD CPU, then let them. AMD need the cash badly, and if they won't be swayed to a vastly better I5 CPU, then they will suffer for it, not you.

Linus is my fetish.

Instead of giving an equally stupid intel fanboy response, lemme try to help you here. I understand that your an AMD fanboy, but heres the thing. The best AMD CPU you can buy just falls way short compared to the best Intel CPU you can afford with your budget. That doesn't necessarily have to do with AMD being "worse" than intel(not gonna say it doesn't contribute). It just has to do with the fact that AMD hasn't released higher end CPUs yet. So for lower end computers, in the $200 - 300 range, their CPUs are atleast comparable. But they havn't made any higher end CPUs at higher prices like intel has. So for the $1000 budget, its not that AMD CPUs fitting such a budget are worse, its that they don't actually exist. If they did, then maybe those CPUs would rival Intel CPU's at a similar price point, nobody knows for sure, and we won't know until they release zen. Hope that helps explain things.

Don't do drugs. Do hugs!

If you have your heart set on an AMD cpu though, I'd maybe reccomend an opteron? They are meant for server use, and not desktop use, but that's the only way your gonna get anywhere near the performance you should be getting out of a $1000 rig if your set on using AMD. However an opteron is a lot more expensive because its meant for servers which means it will eat up much more of your budget for less performance than if you just bought an intel cpu.

Then why are you making this post? If you don't want recommendations for best performance, then don't ask.
