Teamspeak 3 -- Best Audio Codec

themctipers

I want the highest voice/music quality for a Teamspeak 3 server.

Which codec is it?

Speex Ultra-Wideband

CELT Mono

Opus Voice

Opus Music

Yes, although they are cheap apple earpods.

I noticed a difference easily. CELT mono sounded the best to me quality wise but also sounded super distant.

i've always used speex on teamspeak, and it made my pothead voice (thats a very deep voice) friend's blue yeti sound absolutely gorgeous on my end.

never in my life have i thought it to be possible to play minecraft with morgan freeman.

speex also seems to be very forgiving when connections are shyte, or when you have to put people at +6.5 because they cant properly set up a mic.

The Teamspeak I use primarily uses Speex but has recently started using Opus Voice as default for higher quality voice comms.

Opus music seems to be the best for me, but if someone has a really bad connection or bad mic, it DEFINITELY sounds way worse on music preset.
