HP X3 Leaked before MWC

hp_elite_x3_leak_02_tech2.jpg

So here's another piece of Windows Mobile news from me! Some photos and specs have been leaked just before HP's reveal of their Elite X3 Phablet on the upcoming MWC 2016. In my last news thread I introduced the Lumia 650 and some of the folks said how the specs weren't really impressive so I really want to hear your opinions on this one!

So the specifications should be something like this:

  • 5.96-inch QuadHD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Quad-Core SoC
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 32GB storage, microSD expansion up to 200 GB
  • 16-megapixel camera on the back
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • Windows 10 Mobile

And a bunch of other features described in the article under sources.

The device looks good to me and certainly doesn't disappoint with the specs or looks. I hope it's going to satisfy some users in the Windows Mobile market and bring new ones in!

I am really not a fan of Windows Phone 10 so I won't be getting this phone, but the hardware seems promising on paper. We still need to know how good the Snapdragon 820 is, along with how good the screen and camera are.

Another great post @casualgamer. We need more tech news posts like yours.

On topic, this is pretty cool. Ai don't think the camera will be great, as it is business targeted phone, and Lumia team has a whole team of specialists when it comes to camera technology, and has nearly always pushed the industry forward. I can't wait when everyone will copy the RGB LED flash of the Lumia 950 / 950 XL, so that people don't look sick from the blue tint "white" LED flash. Although, we have white and yellow mow, which does a much better job than just 1 LED.

Specifically whether the 820 throttles as bad as the 810 or not.

810 does not throttle on my Lumia 950 XL.

you make it more businessy by focusing on what matters to business. Things like Microphones, good cameras,

The only "business phone" I know of is the older Blackberry Curves that had the camera's blanked out and removed. Perfect for email and you never had to worry about leaking pictures of prototypes, lol.

blackberry were great at business phones, since they appeared as a more focused utility device

I almost have to wonder if "business phones" are truly dead, since anymore now Android, iOS, and Windows Phone can "get shit done" while only being regular consumer products, and they all do a really good job(its not like back in the day when Palm was a half assed attempt to bridge the gap between business and consumer).

They are, I mean I can just run office on my iPhone.. what advantage is there to windows phone etc

Really any modern device could be used for business just fine

(I had a palm, and my old iPaq which I still use to this day for things)

but WP has continuum.  sure not all phones has it (I'm looking at you 650)but I honestly think it's a swell feature that if a companies jumps on could help them save cost while still maintaining the amount of work that their workers can do on *just* their phones.

Removable battery, microSD card slot, and dual SIM, are usually features that businesses like.

To my knowledge there is no high end Android phone from a popular trustworthy brand that has this.

Also, to my knowledge, a company can't do a custom app Store under Android or iOS, or join a company domain, and store company certificates to view company encrypted Office docs. In addition, you have Windows Hello technology.

And you have easy app development (you have a variety of ways, even simply using HTML and JS) for company to make a custom software which they can distribute and maintain on all phone automatically, from the custom App store (the App Store updates app automatically).

Microsoft seems to hint here and there, that in future, it will be more integrated to Windows 10. Already we see phone and messaging app on Windows 10, so this can suggest that perhaps Microsoft is planning to do phone calls, and messaging from your desktop/laptop when your phone is connected. But that is just a guess, and we have to wait and see.

Developing apps with Microsoft's technology is simply amazing compared to Android. Visual Studio with C# and XAML is one of the best things I had the pleasure of working with.
