About the Titan X

Go to solution Solved by Arwanell,

TitanX = 980ti + 6GB VRAM

So i was watching Jen-hsun's press conference on the launch of the Titan X, and through his lecture, he said it's the most powerful "single precision" nvidia GPU ever, so it's not double precision floating points capable, it's not faster nor overclocks better than the 980Ti, just has more Cuda cores, and still coasts 1jeez !! just because it's a "Titan" ?! i'm an nvidia fan but this is a shit load of BS, correct me if i'm wrong .

the Titan X came before the 980TI it was the fastest for quite some time

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

The 980ti came after the Titan X, nVidia was really good about milking as many sales as they could before crushing it with a 1 tonne weight.

I used to be quite active here.

Also, because Nvidia is pushing heavily on tesselation, which is imo not needed because like 4x and 8x is plenty, and we don't need 64x. The 960 can beat the 780 in some games. So that's.... Well i'll leave you to decide if that's a good thing or not.

Also, to slap some numbers on it, 780ti is a 600-ish dollar card, the 960 is 200 bucks.

Made a mistake, it's the 780 and not the 780 ti, but still the 780 was a 600-650 dollars graphics card so the price difference is almost the same.

And it's in the witcher 3 btw. http://www.pcgameshardware.de/The-Witcher-3-Spiel-38488/Specials/Grafikkarten-Benchmarks-1159196/

It would be the same as if you would buy a 980 now, and that get's beaten by a 200 dollar graphics card that's released less than a year later (if you would get one now, and pascal gets released this year).

I would feel screwed, but that's exacly what happened to 780 owners.
