OBS Recordings are grainy.

CruxYo

So when I record with obs my footage comes out grainy. It might be something with my settings or something. I'm not so sure, here are my settings:

  • x264
  • Quality Balance= 10
  • Max Bitrate=3000
  • 1920x1080( no downscaling)  30fps
  • Multithreaded Optimization, process priority class= main
  • x264 cpu preset=fast
  • Encoding Profile= high
  • use of cfr

I put some screenshots of what the recording looks like.

So you're only outputting to local drive?

Then 3K bitrate is WAYYY too low. Go up to like 17-18K

uh, your bitrate is crap...

you should be recording at above 20-30Mbps for decent quality

not 3Mbps

Twitch allows 3.5K max. Idk about other websites like hitbox or ustream.

But bitrate also depends on ur upload. If you have like 10-15 and + you're fine to stream at 3.5K. The less upload you have the lower your bitrate has to be.
