1. I run the stock 1TB Toshiba HDD in my HP laptop with an Intel 525 series 60GB mSATA SSD as a caching drive. This gives me that extra boost in speed for my most frequently used files, games and applications. I also have an Iomega 250GB portable HDD for uni work and some media. Finally, I use a 3TB Seagate GoFlex to take regular images of my machine as when a failure occurs, I can quickly revert back to my setup. This was particularly useful in my last year of uni as my Dell laptop (who i will never buy from again) gave up at the worst possibe time and i needed to get back to my final year project asap.

Awesome giveaway.

Boot drive - 500gb

Backups - 500 gb external (USB2)

               - 3tb external (USB3)

I just got the 3tb recently (I got it at a special price and it was cheaper than a 3tb internal hard drive). I decided on 3 tb because it was better storage for the money than smaller hard drives.

I do not have an ssd because I am worried about their lifespan as I use my hard drives for many years.

Great to see those giveaways :)

I am running a 128gb SSD by Intel for my core drive along with a 1TB HDD 7200rpm by WD and another 500GB HDD 7200rpm by WD.

Thing is I still don't have enough storage since I have a lot of .wav samples for my work (these things take a lot of storage!) as well as massive synthesizers.

I use a 120gb Samsung SSD for boot and a 1TB WD black for storage, SSD for the speed and it was cheap. The HDD was reused from another build in which i got it because it was 1TB for 80 bucks (was kinda a big thing 7 years ago)

I am currently running a WD Scorpio Blue 500GB Drive in my laptop, and an OCZ 90GB SSD in my desktop, with a G-Tech 2TB eSATA drive hooked up to the desktop and laptop for working on the go. I do most of my work on my laptop right now, but soon I will need to upgrade the desktop, as I won't have a need to be so portable. Good luck, all!

I got a seagate momentus x 500gb drive for speed and reliability. When I originally got it I needed something fast but also with a lot of capacity to store all my games. As a student I didn't have much money to spend at the time so I couldn't get an ssd and a mechanical drive. So I settled for something in between.

1. I run a WD10EZRX latest generation green drive by Western Digital (1TB, 64MB cache) because it's quieter and cooler than normal hard drives. The second reason is because Linus demonstrated that it is in fact faster than the previous generation. Additionally, I use an older 1TB green drive (WD10EAVS) for manual back-up of documents, music and image files once a month. That particular HDD was in the pre-assembled Packard Bell system I bought (I didn't know better back then). I would have acquired a high performance SSD already, but I'm still on LGA 775 and the G41 chipset, so the motherboard doesn't have any S-ATA III ports.

I have 4 SSDs in raid 1 (so much faster), 3 TB (just right. since its just games and stuff) for my media in my desktop and 12 TB of WD drives in a Synology drive enclosure for my home server (shared storage for the family)  :D. Would love to get 4 TB drives to upgrade those old drives in my desktop. They're getting slow :\

I'm a very skilled artist with photoshop and I do gaming videos and I want to win because I have a 80 gb hard drive. This will help me boost my performance and it will also make my storage way bigger. I am maxed out with all the 80 gigs and I cannot even play and record a game anymore. I hope I can get this hdd so I can actually upload and make more ones on photoshop. Thanks -FloppyMonitor

I have an old-ish 1TB WD black, because there where no ssd when i got it and it was fast and not too expensive. However for my next computer (for which I'm still buying parts (there is still no CPU :( )) i have a Kingston hyper x 120GB 3k ssd for my boot drive and application like Photoshop  as it was on sale for 47% off and it is very quick. I am also looking for 2-4 HDD to using in RAID 1, 5 or 10 (depending on storage size) to use as mass storage  (Fraps footage is stupidly huge) and it will be backed up if one of the drives fails and compared with ssds they are cheap. lastly i will; about a year or two down the line add a second ssd for games, that's about 500BG as it will give beautiful performance and shouldn't be too expensive by then (fingers crossed).

My storage is a total of 486 gb which is split in two samsung hard drives.Hd322gj with 300gb of memory running at 7200 rpm,16mb buffer in sata2 and sp2014n with 186gb of memory running at 7200 rpm,8mb buffer in ata.Yes i know that ata driver is a piece of junk is loud and old but it gets the job done and eve if it is almost 11 years old it is still working. The other one is newest,it as been bought like 3 years ago once with the pc i am using now and is split in 2 partition one for the operation system and one for other stuff but even if it's almost new is also a bit damaged.I had to do a few adjustments to the power connector and inside the drive because like 1 year ago the tension created by the power cable(because of the ata drive i had to move it 2 slots higher in hd cage and the power cable is a bit short)broke one of the pins. Now is working but in order to disconnect it from the power cable i have to open it and instead of doing that i usually leave it there when i clean the pc.Why i use these drivers?Well most of my space in pc is occupied by music.I have many folders with ambiental music/ost also sound tracks and background music from games and movies and many many discography. Is good enough since i play games one by one because when i want to play something new i just uninstall an old game and install the new one.

I run an SSD only on my main PC. Because I run all my games, and such off of my server which is a home built machine running Windows Home Server V1. I have 1.4 TB of storage on that, but I need more considering I have loaded all my movies, and all of my games on the machine, and I need more storage for the backup of the 5 machines I have in my house.

I'd seriously love to get this drive, it would make me much more secure in the fact that I wouldn't have to worry about my backups, and everything would be in working order.

Whats up everyone, my setup is an i5 3570k, z77-ud3h mobo, gtx 760, cx650, and the cooler master evo, all in an arc midi r2

now for storage, two 350 Toshibia somethings they are HHDs

and a Scandisk 32gb SSD cache.

This is my setup because i ran out of money at micro center and had a few storage drives laying around from old PCs.

If i wont this prize, I think it would fit my build a lot better.

I'm using a single WD 1Tb blue because it was wicked cheap, the other option was a seagate drive but a lot of people recommended WD.

I went with the blue because it is a solid drive and i needed something to boot off haha.

I partitioned my drive 3 times in the forms of 20Gb for win7 and Halo 2 Vista (it stops running when certain programs are installed like Origin) , a 80 Gb win 7 origin Partition and last but not least my main working partition with steam

Specs cpu:  i7 4770k  mobo: z87-pro RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB GPU: EVGA GTX 770 HDD: WD blue 1TB psu: TX750M case: 550D cooling: H100i monitor: Dell U2410/Samsung sa350

I <3 senheiser, ASUS, Corsair, Intel
