ShortDST Fail - HDD failing?

Kaws

Does ShortDST fail mean the HDD is dying and I need to replace this ASAP, or is there a way to fix this error?.

At the moment my D Drive with my PDFs, Backup PSDs is having issues. Copying from my C to D drive just hangs at times, and opening video files takes a long to load as well.

Thanks, so no fix for it?

This is the second time this has happened and I can't but feel hardware is causing the issue?.

You can do CHKDSK, but backup that drive just to be sure if it fails

Would CHKDSK solve the issue or just put a bandaid on it?

That's really just a temporary fix. It will also tell you if there are any bad sectors
