Is it okay to mix a 2GB Kingston PC2-6400 DDR2-800 with a 1GB Samsung PC2-5300 DDR2-667?

Yes and no. It might work, but it also might not. If it does, the 800MHz kit will downclock to 667MHz to match the other RAM.

Technically it should work.

If it works, The frequency of Kingston RAM will be clocked down to 667Mhz to match the speed of Samsung's.

Check your motherboard site and see if there is any BIOS update available. It may increase the compatibility of RAM. Update it with only one stick then add another.

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

It might work but ram used outside of their preconfigured kits aren't guaranteed to.

Moved to CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory.

It did work. Should keeping both of them offer better performance, or should I just ditch the 1GB one?

It will work, altough they don't "Recommend" it.

Half of is the fact that they want you to buy more of their ram instead of another's, and the other half is actual problems :P

It looks as if the peasants have risen up, and found swords!

But their sword's look a little short, if you know what I mean!

Good! The squires need training anyway!
