Watch_Dogs 2 may be released this year with radical changes

Does Aiden Pierce move to SF or is this a new protagonist?

I hope it's a new protagonist but i think it's the same in SF. 

 

Aiden Pierce was one of most masculine names a man can have. He's a 1 dimensional character, he doesn't justify what he is doing and yet provides no punishment for being bad.

 

I guess ubisoft thought we would think he's cool but the character is messed up.

Well thats too bad. I was hoping it would be in Paris like they hinted at at the end of the first game. Also if we could get a protagonist who isn't edgy mcedington that would be nice. The boats were also really fun, I loved taking a boat and some grenades and throwing them at other boats

I suppose. Regardless, it just never captured my attention. I've never been partial to all the faux "hacking" stuff. Just not a game that interests me. I know there are people who do like it and that's fine. Hope the new game turns out better than the first. 

 

I think it adds a fresh idea to the open-world city scape, personally. GTA gets repetitive to me. In Watch Dogs you play as a vigilante, albeit a edgelord one that makes me cringe sometimes.

 

I have over 200 hours in the game, so I recognize it's faults but it does have good original ideas that just needed more time to flourish.

Thinking about it, I don't know why Aiden would move to SF. The main story of Watchdogs was figuring out who killed Aiden's niece. Unless Nikki moved to SF and is endangered, there's no reason I can think of for Aiden to go to SF

I actually thought it was a pretty good first installment, no harm in trying new things

I'm one (of the few apparently) who really liked Watch Dogs. Sure the character development of Aiden was non existent, but it was a fun game, and THE most beautiful GTA clones ever made. You can argue that Witcher 3 is nicer, but that is not a GTA clone, as the technical requirements of streaming the game at horse speed is much lower than at car speed.

 

Sure there was room for improvement, especially on frame timings, causing hitching. Watch Dogs was ahead of it's time, and sadly DX11 wasn't up for it. Had it been a DX 12 game with more draw calls and async compute (especially for the wind system), then it might have run much better.

 

Either way, I presume Ubisoft will solve these issues for a second game. I cannot personally wait to play it. After all the drama of downgrading was, and still is extremely exaggerated. It was still more of an issue of people with mid end systems suddenly see a real next gen game, that was a lot more demanding than they thought.

Don't show amazing graphics and then show a turd at release day, pretty much what ubisoft done with watch dogs hopefully thats the last time, still got hope for the division.

 

Sure it wasn't the same as the E3 preview but it was far from a turd, at least in terms of the graphics.

Even unity runs better D: So yes if you have a good rig with 2GB vram or more, it's fine, if you don't, you are screwed, even if you do have the gpu power it needs.

No Unity doesn't run better. I tried playing Unity but couldn't get more than 20fps no matter what settings at 1080p. Syndicate ran pretty nicely though.

Saints Row is a better GTA clone. Or was... Saints Row IV became something that GTA isn't.

they wont release assasins creed because ppl got tired of the game being release every year with minor changes it doesnt sell anymore, every episode is a copy past of the previous one, so the answer to that is again to reskin assasin's creed into watch dog.

Graphical downgrading from the e3 trailer, the fact that it was so easy to die in that game, fucking infuriating, Aiden was a boring character, pretty cliche plot line for what I played, etc. The game had so much promise, but they done fucked it up imo

watch dogs was actually pretty sweet. Just wish the story would have been different. It was more or less you playing the role of a very angry man who chose the wrong path in life lol

 

But if they fix that in watch dogs 2, and it matches the first game minus the bugs, that would be an awesome game!

560TI actually... Not a big difference but still 10% increase on average is something that you can measure and probably feel in some situations.

And yes it's old, it will be replaced when the new AMD gpu's release. 

And 40fps is something it won't reach in unity, but still the experience it gives in ac:u is better than ac:s. Average fps is lower and it dips really often, almost all the time tbh...

Unity is at least playable-ish, difficult, but it's possible. With syndicate it's just a huge no, you just can't play it, at all.

I agree with the whole storyline thing and the stuff about Aiden, but I beat the game on the hardest difficulty multiple times and I don't think there was a balancing issue. There was someone else here on the forum who had a hard time with the game even on the easiest difficulty and I don't know what your problems are.

 

The game itself though, offered original ideas in a large city scape similar to GTA (I wouldn't reach to call it a GTA clone, that's dumb) and like I said in a previous post here, the first game was a good foundation that just needs to be built on.
