i have a R7 250 1G 128bit GDDR5

8G RAM

i want to upgrade my CPU

should i buy a a8 7600 and crossfire with my GPU or just buy a athlon x4 860k.

The 860K is an A10-7850K minus the iGPU.

 

860K is better.

 

Please, stop recommending things that you know nothing about.

Pretty sure the A8-7600 doesn't have R7 graphics. Plus it costs more for the A8 7600. Get the 860k

for the lower end GPU I think it would be worth it to run the APU in crossfire with the GPU

If your choice is between the A8-7600 or Athlon X4 860K, then definitely go with the 860K.

If you decide to upgrade your graphics card a year or two down, the A8-7600 will limit your performance.

You need the DRR3 version to do hybrid crossfire and even if you can do it with the GDRR5 version, the GDRR5 version is going to lose about 25% performance, I would go with the 860K.
