970 or 390

I'd digress. Most of the software is mirrored pretty much to the letter except Nvidia have the better OBS rip-off

Shadow play?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

You realize that you're the only person who doesn't acknowledge that Shadow play is superior to anything AMD can run, right? Don't go fanboy on us.

Have I said AMD have an option to compete with it? As far as I care Raptr doesn't exist. I use OBS.

I was mainly thinking about the 2 control panels. The old CCC was fine in my opinion, but I couldn't get through the new one (can't recall the name) and I felt that there were options missing. Not a big deal at all, but I think it's worth considering.

Is this the text below my post?

Eh, like any new thing it takes some getting used to. Like when people moved from XP to 7 and were pissed off about X and Y now being together rather than apart.

How the hell did this thread get to 10 pages?

This whole 970 vs 390 thing seriously needs to end. Get whichever is cheapest for you.

Unless you're on a laptop. Then Nvidia gives you a driver once per 2 years.

R

390 cuz faster (~5%) and more vram

970 cuz runs cooler and uses less power

Running cooler would all depend on the models of each card.

I agree, I see threads like this happen all over and on bigger forums like this the debate really never ends.

Lower even with the right ventilation. Only the VRMs run hot on the Nitro. It truly is amazing where temps are concerned.

Also there isn't a massive price difference and the R9 390 is actually usually cheaper than the GTX 970 in the U.S.

Oh god, that didn't take long. Can we have one topic without fan rhetoric? Games use the VRAM available to them and nothing has been shown that the 8g on the 390 and the 4g (yes, 4g) on the 970 makes a difference. No developer in their right mind would develope a fucking game that only the 390 and it's duct taped on VRAM could handle.

So please, can we have one of these without the church of AMD sending a prophet.

You seem like a fan boy yourself. I'm building my first PC soon with an R9 390 because it performs better in the games that I play, but if NVIDIA has a better option I would take it. The 970 is an amazing card, but so is the 390. It all depends on games and software.

I don't get this lol, the 390 ran hotter in those tests, what point are you making?

We all know that the 390 is the better card and so it should be, its 8 months or so newer

You might want to check the settings on your monitor friend. The 970 ran cooler. The 390 hit 80c when overclocked.

Sorry, meant to quote @vagabond139

Recheking the R9 390 only ran hotter in one which was the first one.

temp.jpg?w=800

The R9 390 is at 71C and the GTX 970 is at 77C.

The Powercolor PSC+ ran at 62C under load and the GTX 970 ran at 63. Overclocked the PSC+ ran at 52C under load and 55C.

Im talking about the MSI you linked in your video lol, you tell me read graphs wrong after you link a video showing the opposite to the actual reason you quoted in the first place and then when you realise you was wrong you link a different chart

Just to clarify OC vs OC and Stock vs Stock, it looses

OP get the 390, its a little faster and AMD appear stronger in DX12 at the moment

Yep, it happened. That comparison is the largest load of bull shit I've ever seen on this forum. I don't know where you found it, but my advice it to sterilize EVERYTHING, get tested, and never go back.
