I want someone to review this. Really curious how thermals are as well as whether you an fit a gpu in there albeit with pci extensions. Tweeted it to Jay, seeing as Linus has already been mentioned. I hope both do it. Looks interesting. If it can fit a full GPU (and tbh it looks that it can) I might use it as a compact gaming PC case, just stick an i5 and a 980ti in there and #done.

 

edit: seems it can't fit a gpu.... maybe the nano?

Honestly, I don't see why you would build in a Mac Pro look-a-like case.

The thermals are most likely going to be horrible.

What? The reason Apple could make it that small and work is all custom PCB's. No way are you getting a MOBO and GPU in there

The size should be enough for one. Don't forget that the original had two in crossfire. So the pcb should fit. The cooling is probably be the probable and the only way to go is with something like fury x. In fallout case the fury x was 85C while normally is 55C. So there is no way that a aircooled gpu will be not throttling in that case( unless it is gpu with laptop tdp of course with the performance of a laptop)

The fall out build used a R9 Nano, not a Furry X so the thermals are actually about what they should be for that card in a small case.

Lawsuits can still happen in China. China is not a lawless wild west. They have rules and laws just like most of the world.

And eventhough the company is Chinese lawsuits can still be carried out in the countries where the case is sold. 

If a potential suit is filled in the US, for example, Apple could have the manufacture pay Apple a percentage of the total sale and have the case banned from import.

And if you read what I wrote, the it would become clear that I had that in mind. 

Also, a company like Apple will most likely have a design patent for the Mac Pro in China. 

A couple of years back they refused to sell iPads on the Chinese market due to them being refused a design patent on the iPad (or rather, someone had filled a patent before they did).

 

And if a potential lawsuit is filled in the US (or the EU for that matter), the case can be banned from import within the courts judicial territory.

That means that no one can legally import the case.

So no large retailer will be able to carry the case, and the few private individuals that import it from China will run a risk (although a miniscule one) of the case being ceased by customes.

 

This is, of course, not really an issue for the for the people on AliExpress and eBay that sell directly to the consumer, but from what I can tell the case looks like a fledged out retail product.

Unfortunately you aren't entirely correct. In many cases they won't care unless you are a huge company (like apple). I have seen first hand issues like this where a small business that manufactures and sells rotary racing components has their product ripped off by a company in China and after a year of contacting patent offices, copyrights and trademarks, they just ended up alerting all customers and asked them to only purchase from verified sellers until the Chinese company gave up. While they aren't "lawless" it is still an incredibly corrupt system run by their "titans of industry"

A few years ago a Chinese company made a blatant knock-off of BMW's X-Series SUV. BMW took the company to court in China and presented the two identical cars as evidence. The case was thrown out.

I don't get it. Why don't any of these trashcan cases (and that includes the Fallout bomb case) have a huge 20cm fan in the bottom? More airflow at less noise.
