Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

I planned to buy some cheap Adata SSD for my fathers notebook he got after me (7-8 year old asus with same old HDDs) but sadly I will be unable to get it for christmas. If I could get him some SSD, it would be amazing :)

- if there is $300 limit I would then take advantage of it and probably ask for Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-512GB-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-7KE512BW/dp/B00LF10KTO/ (compared to my planned 128GB Adata ... :D )

- it would be for my father and his ancient notebook

- reason is that his HDD is going to die most likely sooner than later.

In any case, it would be much desired upgrade for him from 2x Seagate 320GB HDDs :) http://i.imgur.com/343ihqH.jpg (and yes, it is photo via my phone, because I have my own PC with my own 850 Pro SSD ;) )

I'd get a GoPro Hero Kit for my farther.

He is always going on hikes/strolls/boating trips in the outdoors and when he comes back he is always telling me how I should of been there and saw this/that. With this he will be able to capture his whole outdoor adventure, let it be on land or sea and he won't have to worry about focusing the camera or clicking multiple buttons at a time (One click at the start of the journey and one at the end). This would be awesome for not only him but also me, I'll get to see what happens every trip without being left out due to having work or other activity and best of all my Dad will be able to use this easy piece of tech without worrying its there (just mount it to his head).

Thanks Linus for this chance and the product is $298.95... I know I just made it! (hopefully sale doesn't doesn't end!) :P

Might add this later...

Happy Holidays :)

I would honestly say that the perfect gift for my father, (whom I do not live with) could use a new router for him and my family.

But I think he needs something simple, fast and reliable.

I would say the Securifi Almond+, Easy setup, Wireless AC and great reviews :)

Thanks for the giveway and good luck to all participants.

Hi Linus,

I am thankful to you for this great Christmas give away idea. As a dedicated follower of your YouTube channel I learned a lot of stuffs from you and your team. Loved your new office and wish to build something for my own on near future. I am an entrepreneur and web developer. I was really looking forward to give something big for my parents. As they both are older above 65s and visually less capable than ourselves. The most horrible thing is they still have old 20" CRT TV which my dad has a special attachment. Because he bought that from his savings while on government service. And he refuses to any one except him to purchase a TV for them. And my mom is really have a lot of issues watching her favorite daily soaps into that. If I could gift them a LED TV with smart features that would be really great. Especially for my Mom.

Here is the product:

By the way if you can recommend a better TV with internet connectivity I would definitely go with your choice.

Happy Holidays! to you and your whole team.

Debraj

With love from India

My best friend pisses me off! He listens to music with the WORST headphones ive ever heared. It's disgusting! This is why I feel like he deserves to have this pair of headphones. Personally I have a pair thay i dont use that much anymore since I got some studio monitors but I still have had a great experience with them. If he gets these headphones I will finnaly be able to not scream at him when he talks about how good they are because they will actually be good! Hello,

a wifi extender TP-Link TL-WA860RE WLAN is a simple plug-in choice wich has an AC passthrough. Since there is only one outlet in our hall I see this device as a perfect fix for the weak wifi coverage my mom gets in the livingroom. This will improve my moms tech life without her moving a finger! :)

My dad loves working at the construction site ( mostly indoors ), but he told me that sometimes it is boring because it's so quiet there ( he works by himself ).  He told me that he would love to have a bluetooth speaker at work or a radio.  He asked me what type of speaker is good and I said Bose have pretty good quality and they are loud and clear.  So, I would love to give him this for Christmas.

Thank you so much guys, this is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation to our loved ones :)

A SSD for my parents' home computer. They currently have a hard drive from the 1700's and are often able to take a shower before it boots xD.

PS: So you'll be gifting 3 people 3 gifts of $300 that they will gift to non-techies, who will then regift the gift? Three levels of gifting, 3 gifts, $300, 3 people- that's some illuminati **** right there.

I would send my mother a On Hub router because he is paying for 100 Mbps internet but is getting around 20 Mbps with this standard router we got from our provider.

OnHub Wireless Router from Google and TP-LINK https://www.amazon.c...d_vO.xwbJMEXQXJ

Normally I'd say my mom would be the perfect example for a non-techie. But a friend of mine is actually worse. He got a new Iphone 6 from his dad a while ago, and hes blown away by siri. I swear he asks her everything possible, no matter where or what. So I'll probably get him the new Amazon Echo, as soon as it comes out in my native tongue (hes probably not going to use it if its completely in a different language). Even if that means that he will have to wait a little longer. Also he has this amazing LG soundbar, but he barely uses it because it still requires you to use an aux cord. All hes using is this small bose bluetooth speaker (which is great if youre outside, im not judging).

Sincerely, Fabian.
