Would a 4gb variant be adequate to run games at high/ultra settings at a smooth 60fps on aforementioned resolution? I'm aware that the 380 is more powerful but I'd rather keep the power consumption relatively low and there's a decent price difference between the two where I live. Thanks in advance!

Yes, it would be fine for that res.

Power Consumption is near identical. Unless the price difference is substantial a 960 is NOT worth the money

Cause he, just as I, like to get the best for the money, and the 960 is not worth it at all. Don't touch that. Radeon 380/285/280X all are better choices

yep, it'll do pretty well, but has already been said, the 280 is a better option.

An even better way to go would be a 7970.
