when are you going to build it? and what will you be using it for? PSU is overkill. it does not justify best of the best. the power efficiency will be useless since you can't even hit half of the wattage.

Is this a joke? What are you using the computer for? A more expensive component doesn't mean that it's better and that it will last longer. You can have a 500$ PC that lasts two years (in terms of durability).

Even for guaranteed 2 years the wattage of a psu doesn't help with its longevity, you want to get quality like a high end Silverstone.

Everything else is best of the best though.

If you're spending way more than you need to on parts like now, why not do a custom loop instead of an AIO?

when the 4930k comes out i will get it

i have to get windows 7 professional because anything lower only supports 16gb memory

i told you i want a 1200w psu for future upgrades

dominator platinum 32gb because the board supports 64gb and is quad channel so if i got 4x4gb sticks i would only get 32gb out of the board and i no you dont need 32gb its madness but fuck it

in my head all makes sense i do heavy 3d work gaming and rendering.

also i didn't mean future proof in how long the components will last i meant in terms of being able to perform really well in all things 2 years down the line.

1200W is still useless, get 850W and you'll be good for an OC and a 780 SLI in the future. 1200W is not more future proof than 800W in your situation, so let's not waste your money.

just don't get the platinums. too much money wasted. what kind of future upgrade will you be doing? unless you are going for quad-SLI (which is pointless) i don't really see it hitting 1200w. unless you got a ton of other stuff in there,

Alright, i dont have a problem with 32gb ram but dominator is just overpriced and offers the same performance as almost every other modul.

850/750w psu will perform just as well as a 1200w in 2 years, just cheaper/more efficient

No way will he hit 1200w if computers are continuing to be more energy efficient as years go on.

You're using a workstation CPU and motherboard but not a workstation GPU. It's really nonsense in all honesty.

Unless you're doing professional work and making the money you spend on your parts backs, you're wasting your money.

What 3d work and rendering are you going to do that will make use of all that ram and the 4930k

im doing a course in game development. so the 4930k will come in use for all the things i do.

Ok first of all, there is no way in hell that you need 32gb of ram.... If you're doing some hard rendering 16-20 will do the trick.... in terms of gaming, the difference even between 8 and 16 gb of ram is very minimal. (only 1-5 frames more...Frames which you wont even see because your monitor is probably only 60 htz.  So you wont get any boost out of 32 gb.  Also, an 800w psu is going to be just as future proof.  Having 1200w is just a HUGE waste of money.

Also if I were you, I wouldnt waste my money on a SSD.  Just buy 4 or so 3 tb drives (for about the same price as 1 500gb ssd mind you) and RAID them together so they stripe across 2 drives and then the other 2 drives are a back-up.

Overall, your system is WAY overkill and you are going to be wasting a lot of your money.

Plus I get the impression that you are trying to compensate for something....

I agree with you on most things and more ram doesn't improve fps what so ever not even 1 frame, but seriously an ssd is really a must at this price point and is a much better solution than raided hdds which will have a higher chance of failure will still be slower and will also take up more room

A 'course'. What you have so far is overkill. What programs are you using? What department of game development will you be working on?
