Overwatch Gets a release date, paid game with console versions coming

No you don't buy heroes.  During the Q&A they mentioned that they are committed to 21 characters, and all 21 have been revealed.  There are no plans for future characters yet.

If they don't make more characters this game is dead. 21 characters is pitiful if you are going after a moba like feel with different characters having different abilities.

Sure, but they can take their time with the release.  Blizzard has always been committed to quality and they will delay anything and everything until it meets their standard.  That is also no indication that they will charge for heroes/map packs.  They are still a business and need to make money.

eh, not really, moba has rpg elements (leveling, stats etc etc), and most of the time items, this is more like TF2. 

Not really, it doesn't have creep and items but everything else is there. Heroes of the Storm don't have items. But in Overwatch there are healers, tanks and many heroes with different abilities and each hero haves ultimate. Objectives are also there.

The one and only thing this game has that is "moba like" is the Roles, Buts offence, defense and support is in other games as well, Like TF2,  "tank" is the only thing not in there.

Team Fortress 2 has the Medic (healer), it has the Heavy (tank), and many classes with different weapons and attributes. Objectives are basically every game mode (Payload, KoTH, Control Point, Payload Race, etc).

 

Is Team Fortress 2 a MOBA?

And "team based games" is new kind of thing devs want to promote with games while making them all moba like lately to attract masses. "Heroes" isn't a genre.  By your definition of a MOBA game, World of Warcraft is a MOBA game (12 classes).  Guild Wars 1 with main and secondary classes per character is a MOBA (10 classes for a total of 200 class combinations).  If TF2 had 3 times more heroes it magically becomes a MOBA game as well?  Lel.

I'm saying that lately devs are making games more and more moba to core gameplay. They saw they can't make infinite copies of games like LoL Dota so they changed some stuff, it's still same thing. I can't see how you compare MMORPGs here. I mean, WoW arena only wise it would suite Multiplayer Online battle Arena but it's not only arena for that game. And also term is diluted, second all newer games are so based on mobas that their gameplay style is same in core.

First of your the one that doesn't understand.

Only creeps are missing? No, wrong, everything moba related is missing.

No creeps.

No leveling.

No base defence. (spawn Point doesn't count)

No QWE moves + ultimate (OW has 2 abilities and 1 super ability that have to charge up)

No store for gear.

No paths with towers that need to be defended

Borderlands also have a special attack that works similar to OW.

This game is in almost every way like team fortress 2, just with less Content in its current state and more characters and 1 special ability.

Is team fortress moba like? No

Is OW moba like? No. And having a special move does not make it one.

Evolve also have special moves and classes with there own weapon, it's not a moba or moba like game.

And don't talk about objectives because you clearly dont know what those are.

All games have time, ALL! It's not a moba exclusive thing, never was.

If the game had creeps or leveling or more abilities it would be Dota like, if it had all of that it would be very Dota like.
