Running out of ram?

Windows gave me a notification that I was running out of ram. I had about about 6GB of ram free. At that time DWM crashed, and battlefield 3 crashed. Then random things like skype crashed. Now its back to normal. Why would this of happened? I mean I had a lot of tabs and multiple browsers open, but I shouldn't run into that problem with 16GB of ram.

probably unstable ram or cpu any overclocks at all ?

Not really, if the software detects not enough ram, or loss of ram, it won't load up the programs, or the programs will lose what they've already put onto the ram, so it makes sense that it would crash.

but seriously its probably a service that hogs a buncha ram in spikes. check process manager

Cpu's only oced to 4.2  and ram is not oc'ed at all.
