I did not pay anything, but how much do ppl usually pay for an OS, or were paying for an OS before all that Win10 jazz?

I payed £39.99 for windows 7 64bit pro about 4 years ago now and I bought windows 8.1 64bit pro for like £89.99 which I clean installed once I got my SSD, then upgraded to windows 10 about a week ago!

I paid $100 for W7 Home Premium, then someone gave away a key on here for W7 Ultimate, and then upgraded to W10 for free. My one laptop though I put Ultimate on it which cost me $200.

I payed £100/$160 because I'm an idiot who wasted money buying it from Microsoft store(I was using USB) and not just buy a cheap retail dvd and just use the product key(excluding reddit,ebay,G2A etc,)

Never paid for a windows code (except of course including in a laptop price etc.)

Ive got quite a bunch of win 10 codes now, so I dont expect to pay for windows anyday soon.

Well now that windows is free to upgrade, you can just boot a windows 8.1 and upgrade. I know i shouldnt encourage booting but its life, its gonna happen

Gray market BS. Most of these are dreamspark keys that can be deactivated at any time and are technically illegitimate if you're not a student. Might as well pirate at that point.
