nope. they haven't had a single issue. It just works every single day they use it whether it be for school or to play minecraft or some browser game or something. I had to initially show them how to login and stuff but once they got that... they've never complained to me about a single thing lol

lol.. It's perfect! I bet if they had windows they would of came to me with some issue by now haha

Linux has come REALLY far in the last few years. There are distros out there now that can be installed, up and running and come with all the software the average user would need, in minutes - using only a GUI without ever needing to touch a terminal to do anything else. They run fast and snappy on a wider range of hardware than windows and best of all, they are free. ;) No bloate, no malware, no viruses (virtually none), just only what you need and it gets out of the way of what you want to do. 

 

People are so afraid of something different, they miss out on something that's actually legitimately and objectively better in almost every way. Linux is awesome. :)

Im gonna wait to see what kind of free dlc will be added and what other content they are adding because right now im interested in singleplayer only and the current offering is a load of tat also the car/track content mainly track is a joke, it has fewer real tracks then assetto corsa, with fictional it totals to 17.

I'm hesitant about GT Sport. Many reviews said it seemed to be focused on MP online. I liked the single player aspect of the previous ones. I'll wait and see what happens. Needing DLC for more cars and tracks isn't too great.

 

 

 

Otherwise: Anyone know a good mod for Dirt Rally? I have it, didn't start playing it until this past week, and I'm loving it. But could use a touch of modern high end graphics. Is there such a thing for this?

I love it. I want to finish the campaign first before going online, almost 80% there. Thinking of buying Gimx adapter to use my G27 with it, currently using the controller motion sensor, i surprised how responsive it was despite on wireless.

so about Pcars 2. 1 of the 2 things are happening hopefully not both. Either im completely shite at Silverstone with the G40 Junior, or the AI are surpisingly good at it ... cause even after turning down the difficulty to the default setting, im the slowest car ... the previous tracks i had turned up the difficulty quite a bit and still dominated the AI

Ginetta AI is still kind of broken, especially at silverstone and definitely in the rain

For game that caters gamer that mostly use gamepad, the gamepad support is really bad.. You need to wait few years for the steering to reach lock-to-lock if you're using digital button. Not a problem if you use the gamepad motion sensor though.

i noticed that in the rain its fine, and they tend to be better in the dry and that is how it should be ... but there is no way i can beat them at silverstone xD holly cow they are fast

That car is very momentum sensitive, because it's so low on power. So try being very smooth on the brakes and carry as much speed through the corners as you can. 

 

I have no idea about the AI in PCars 2 because I never race with the AI. ;)

I know, but doesnt help when the ai are faster int turn 1 on silverstone no matter how i take the turn :/ 

i guess going online is the way to go? xD

@MEC-777 just an FYI as to how bad the AI is.  Ginetta G40 Junior at Silverstone National, practice - got 1st on like 85 difficulty, qualifying ... set the same exact lap time if not better .. got 8th on 60 difficulty when the AI was in like 1:10.800  and in the race ... on 90 difficulty .. dry laps all of them were on my ass after i overtook everone of the line, when it started raining they fell back, ended up like 30 seconds behind me. -_-

There's some work being done to the AI especially on their performance under several conditions like rain,snow as well as their race start behaviour and aero damage impact. Their fastest times after simulating the race also got a big improvement lately and will be better in the upcoming patch.
