Ps3 emulator legit?

noisebomb44

Is this emulator legit, or is it just a scam?
http://esxemulator.com/#download

I think its a scam, because if you want to download it, you have to like their facebook page, and take a survey, something that scam emulators often do

I know that this emulator is legit, although the maybe scam one seems a lot more complete

There is a PS3 emulator being worked on and it does go in game, not for public release.

Yeah, I agree. I've never seen an actual working emulator that you can just "download".

But ive heard people getting the emulator on the second link to work, although by only playing a few selected games

For the latest on emulation, I would go check out https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/

If there's a working emulator, it'll pop up in there. The emulation Wiki does state that there are no publicly available working emulators for the X360, XBONE, PS3, PS4, or Wii U. Wii and GC games play well, though.

That is fair, my 4690K does run LoZ: Wind Waker very well (even though that game is renowned for being accurate). I have another PC in the house with an AMD FX-6300, I'll try Dolphin on that.

PCSX2 is working on one for PS3. And if PCSX2 (PS2 Emulator) worked, I'm confident in their ability to make one for PS3 games. You'll just have to fiddle with settings for a little bit.

It depend on the game but most of the time I never got 60 FPS on dolphin on my old Phenom II x6 T1090

now on my 4790k every thing runs at 60 FPS. Both PCs were using the same  GTX 660 ti  card

Do you have to apply a patch to run at 60 fps? LoZ runs capped at 30 fps. I know the CPU and GPU aren't working that hard (I was using a 970, only just upgraded), so driving it wasn't an issue.

I should have said full frame rate instead of 60 FPS. whoops.

I recently tried out the Rainbow Six Siege Beta on my friend's PC (FX-6100 and GTX 960), and found it very uncomfortable running at 30 fps. It was personally, not a pleasant experience.

Also, he uses an AMD chip. So not a great start at any rate.

I've been playing a game that says it's running at 60 FPS, but really it's 30 FPS and I have no trouble. But this is where each person is different in the world and we have our own ways. :)

That is fair. To be honest, I'm fairly sensitive to first person shooters, but I'm totally okay with LoZ: The Wind Waker running at 30 fps. Feels smooth. :)

FPS are probably the most annoying games to run at 30 FPS. of course the PC master race craps on any game running at 30 FPS, doesn't matter if it's a old game from 1997 (FF7 PC) or 2014/2015 (Tales of Zillia) which was only made for the PS3 console in mind and the western version is getting a PC port and PS4 port.

Though they did try 60 FPS on the second game but it broke the balance and game play as the game system is tied to frame rate.

Some games work well at 30 fps, like some older games, but modern titles are much better experienced at 60 fps.

I'm not going to shit on a game that was designed for consoles but was ported to PC as an afterthought, and just so happened to run at 30 fps. What I WILL shit on is a half assed port which runs like shit, like Arkham Knight when it was first released.

I do think tying the mechanics of a game to its framerate is stupid, though. Doesn't provide much flexibility.

Yeah, while they didn't get the game to run at 60 FPS, they did enhance the game for both PS4 and PC, and you got tons of video options for PC that can outclass the PS4 version. As for Arkham Knight, that was just horrible. Though it seems the final fix or one to get the game to be very playable is coming out at the end of the month.

Back on topic though a PS3 emulator seems like a hard task to do, as it was being run on a cell processor. I will give the one from the PCSX2 team a try as I enjoyed the PS2 emulator they did.
