Posted September 30, 2015 Amazon: http://geni.us/1IQL NCIX: http://bit.ly/1Rfh2Ue What on earth could I be doing with an expensive Colorimeter like the X-Rite i1 Basic Pro 2? I'll give you one hint - it has something to do with monitors... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Posted September 30, 2015 snip Hey there on the most recent monitor review linus talks about graphs showing technical details from using this piece of equipment but it never shows up on screen. Is this a vessel related issue? If not, you might want to fix it, because the color spec's were just never shown. Also quite the late night.... First post? Either way that 2560x1080p video feels like its missing something. Posted September 30, 2015 What's the difference between this expensive one and something much cheaper. Is it just accuracy or is there something else. Also don't manufacturers calibrate the displays before they get shipped out. Posted September 30, 2015 It's midnight. This is when we post every day lol. Its late, go to bed! As to colorimeters, been using them for years (Spyder elites), frankly wish all monitors were calibrated as now I go and see some one elses screen and cringe at what are to me, obvious colour tints. Also kind of enlightening, most screens that are new, are for the most part pretty accurate bar being too bright or dark when I tested them. Give them 2 years they loose that by some margin. Actually got a new monitor here, will keep an eye on that and see what the degradation in colour is like over each recalibration. Its not my fault I am grumpy, you try having a porcelain todger that's always hard!
 Posted September 30, 2015 You should think about publishing for download the corrected profiles of the monitors you test Linus, with model and panel information. Most of the times they improve the panels' color quality without being specific calibrated, correcting general manufacturer mishaps. Its something being done in some AV forums I frequent. Please take this into consideration, many, many of those that want to buy a new screen for up to 500$ maybe want to save that 1000$ and having you tell the result and if so changes they need to make. If you want to milk it, ask for donations to a special point and if you reach it, you will do it for every upcoming screen review. Hope you guys read this!
