2nd GPU or monitor first?

Mikjul

As title, another 390 MSI Gaming or a new monitor?

Currently at 1080p 60hz.

Only use for higher refresh would be CS and nothing else, i don't take BF4 seriously.

How are those Freesync monitors? would i benefit?

You don't need 2 gpu to run a 1080p monitor

No one here asked that.

He isn't wrong. Why would you need another card? You can run CSGO at 1080p over 200 fps easy on one 390.... Get a 144hz 1080p screen.

Well to be honest it's a bit of a pointless question as only you know if what you have now is good enough.

No issues really, but games are coming like Fallout 4 and a few others.. they will push requirements.

I imagine you will be fine, still well beyond what consoles are going to be doing visually and fps wise.

but it REALLY depends on what you want the second monitor for..productivity? multitasking while gaming? or you just want 120+hz/freesync

the only exception to what I said though is if you can score a used 390

I would get the monitor, worst that would happen is having to pull back your settings a touch.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

You won't need to a second 1080p monitor for just multitasking won't affect gameplay at all it's just the CPU which is fine obviously

I see, ya I would still get a new monitor 1st if you are going for 120+ hz  because I know you re getting over 100 or damn close to it in BF and well over it in CSGO already and you are not even "Feeling" that higher FPS... so just adding a new video card to it you are going to be getting even more FPs you cant feel the diffrence on.and I doubt you will have any issues running Fallout

If anything it will be the CPU that has issues judging by Bethesda's past haha.

Yeah i think i will go for the monitor now then.

I dunno anything about freesync and how it performs  I just know some have been iffy according to linus, at least next to some gsynx displays, so im not willing to say and steer you wrong.

look at it this way man...

that monitor will be sexy for atleast 5 years or more....

any GPU will be "worthless" after 2.....

Also, having gone Ultrawide myself (unfortunatly, not a freesync one), you will not regret it....

Cheaper and made by a solid company.

Acer is a solid brand.... And yes that monitor is pretty darn good, BUT, it doesnt have freesync/Adaptive sync, and that can be a blessing on bigger screens, as tearing IS more visible when it does happen. (although, i barely if ever get tearing, and no, i refuse to use V-sync. And i use a R9 295x2, so technically i run CF every day)
