Right, so, yes technically humans can see more, but at any reasonable distance the pixel density isn't going to make much of a difference. Even with the phone right up against your face it won't make much of a difference.

Oh yes, it will. 1440p may bhe an exaggeration - but 1080p IS noticeable and there's no excuse not to have it when devices that cost half as much have had it for a couple of years.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Xcode confirmed it today, the iPhones now both have 2GB and the Pro has 4GB. Apple was killing it with only 1GB in the phones, curious to see how they and developers can play with double that.

The Pro needs 4GB. If they're gonna push creativity on any level then 4 is borderline for AutoCAD or photoshop or illustrator work of any level. Nice to see they didn't skimp and only give it 2 or 3

Good to hear. It's about time Apple updated the RAM.

I think until the iPhones jump to 1440p (who knows, they might strike a deal with Samsung to et 1440p OLED displays for the 7, we can hope at any rate) that 2GB for how iOS runs, might be enough for a few years. 1GB hit its limit last year with the 6+, so its tough to say how much life they can get out of 2GB especially if we get another resolution bump.

Holy shit. Apple went thicker (for a longer battery life, perhaps?)

No, the 13 inch thing probably bent at 6.1 mm.  B)

I think that depends on how you define "hit its limit". The low amount of RAM forced Apple to do certain things such as implement RAM compression, very aggressive cache clearing and to not let processes run in the background as freely as on other OSes.

Because of that I would argue that the 1GB of RAM was limit them long before the iPhone 6+.

We might also see an increase in GPU performance since they can now allocate a bit more as VRAM.
