sound lowering when in skype

mobo -  Gigabyte X79-UD3

windows 7

now i've obviously done
1. Open the Run Command
2. Enter or Type mmsys.cpl
3. Click the Communications tab
4. Select Do Nothing
5. Save

but it's still lowering other sound sources when someone is talking,

 

i did a fresh windows 7 install about 6 hours ago,

i had this issue with this rig before but i did solve it  but cant remember how ( was about 2 years ago )

 

 

if i left smt out or if you got a fix let me know <3

Look in skype's settings.

check control panel audio settings

set to do nothing when answering a call

Look in skype's settings.

i disabled the auto adjust sound thingy if thats what u meant

1) Right click on the volume/speaker icon in the taskbar

2) Click Sound

3) Go to the Communications tab

4) Set communications activity to "Do nothing"

 

Nvm didn't read everything properly.  But that should be the solution, so I'm not sure what is causing the problem.

Not your PC's audio settings, the audio settings within skype. (Unless you only messed with the ones in skype, then do the windows ones.)

Sound devices settings > (What ever output you're using) > Properties > Advance > Disable "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"

you are refeering to the speaker/microphone setting in skype that automatically adjust it right?

if that is the case i disabled both of them

so i did find the fix and my god was it hidden

 

did what megaant4 said disabled that on my "line 1" ( virtual audio cable ) which is the main thing i use, then when that didnt work i tried to do the same on my regular audio device and it had a tab i didnt notice before "dolby" and well that was a sound program and in there 4 things was enabled i disabled them all and boom it works properly
